There’s a new internet sensation in the town of Los Angeles and that is the Lakers newboy, Quincy Olivari. However, his journey hasn’t always been easy. His mother, Courtney, faced numerous struggles, which instilled in him the resilience to overcome his dark, undrafted days and change his circumstances. Now that he has secured a contract with the LA franchise, the rookie is determined to give back to his family.
Speaking about his high school days with Treasure Wilson AKA Stat Baby on the Come And Talk 2 Me show, Quincy highlighted his mother’s contributions in making him what he is now. Quincynnati began by saying that he was not satisfied with the weightlifting done in the school basketball team. So he would wake up every morning and do weightlifting with the football team instead. “My mom was just telling me, like, she would wake up, make me breakfast, and drop me off every morning, like, 5 AM,” the 23-year-old said.
It’s the small gestures that he mentioned his family did to support his dreams, regardless of the outcomes, that Quincy values the most. “And now that I’m here, when that day comes, and I’m able to repay them, definitely will be worth the, I guess, 19 years because I’ve been playing since I was 4, the 19 years of headache and sacrifice,” an emotional Quincy confessed. His mother not only made special gestures and sacrifices for him during his tough early days, but she continues to do so even now.

Along with the tweet, she posted Quincy’s childhood pictures with NBA star-turned-TNT host, Shaquille O’Neal and other crew members. The little boy used to tag along with his mama when she went to deliver the cakes to the TNT studio on special occasions. So, Courtney sent her request to the show organizers to invite Quincy for an episode in which he would achieve his full circle moment.
Whether Quincy will be officially asked to visit the studio as a Laker or not after his mother’s request depends on the organizers. With the Inside The NBA entering its final year of existence, the window is short for Olivari to achieve his moment with Shaq and Co. However, if he succeeds in creating history for the franchise, he will certainly be invited to many other shows.
