And the Warriors’ pursuit to get back into title contention continues… That’s what we’ve been hearing for months now! Ever since Klay’s departure, Joe Lacob has added a lot of new pieces, hoping to fill that void and get Stephen Curry the support he needs to get the team back on top. Just when you thought that they were done making moves, agent Arturs Kalnitis made a shocking announcement involving 6’10 Forward Davis Bertans, who possesses a skill that the Dub Nation needs.
Yes, in a post shared on his Instagram story, Arturs revealed, “Davis Bertans will prepare for the upcoming season with the Goldenstate” and even congratulated him on his new journey in the Bay Area. As of now, no official announcement has been made by either party, with the terms of Bertans’ deal still unclear. However, veteran insider Marc Stein revealed that the Latvian star has been invited to work out with the team, which could later determine if the Warriors will extend him an invitation to their training camp.
Just last season, Rudy Gay earned a similar invite which led to him joining the Warriors’ training camp. But he couldn’t turn it into a secure contract. Maybe, Bertans will have a different fate. Most recently, Davis played for the Charlotte Hornets after he got traded to the team mid-season from OKC. In the 28 games he played in Charlotte, he averaged 8.8 points on a solid 37.5% shooting from beyond the arc. But that was not enough to secure his future with the team as he got waived earlier this summer, making him a free agent.

So far, Bertans has played on 5 different NBA teams, but arguably his best run was with the Wizards where he averaged 11.6 points in three seasons and was a sniper from long range. And that might be exactly what the Warriors need heading into next season.
Shocked hoops world assesses Davis Bertans’ move to the Warriors, anticipating it to “rain 3’s”
Sure enough, many fans were shocked by the announcement as there has been no official communication by the team so far and one wrote, “Wait what? When did Warriors sign him?” Well, he has likely not been signed yet. But there could be a future offer incoming if things go right.
Meanwhile, another netizen was ecstatic claiming, “Warriors got a steal 🔥” with the availability of Bertans. Although he has been a role player his entire career, Bertans is an elite three-point shooter with a career 39.6% efficiency and could fit perfectly with the Warriors’ brand of basketball. Not only is he a great shooter, but he is also a decent presence on the defensive end. Utilizing his 6’10 frame, Bertans averaged 0.3 blocks and 0.8 steals for the Hornets last season. And the Warriors could use him alongside Draymond Green.
One fan was left dreaming of how dominant the Warriors would be. “Warriors are raining 3’s ☔️☔️☔️”. Obviously, they have the greatest shooter in the world in Stephen Curry. But they’ve also added Buddy Hield to the roster as Klay’s replacement. Bertans will only add to that three-point threat.
What’s your perspective on:
Did the Warriors just make a huge mistake by not signing Davis Bertans?

However, this fan applauded the Warriors for the move, but felt bad for the Nuggets as he expected them to add Bertans. Yes, he could have been a great addition in Denver, as they are also looking for a sharpshooter after the departure of KCP.
If it’s for cheap great move by the Warriors this is someone I expected the Nuggets to grab ngl

And one netizen was just disappointed bringing the Warriors’ rivals into the picture. “why lakers fumbling 🤦♂️” they wrote. Jeanie Buss and Co. have missed out on yet another solid player if the Warriors successfully secure Bertans in the coming days. As of now, Rob Pelinka has made no additions to the roster while the Warriors have added a plethora of stars, maybe not at the ‘prime Klay accuracy level of production’ but the Dubs definitely have the volume.

Well, it does not look like a deal has been inked between Davis Bertans and the Warriors yet. So, there is still a possibility of him signing with a different team if the said workout session does not go well. But do you think the Warriors should add the Latvian big man to their roster?
