Trust once broken is hard to mend. The current example of this truism is the Harden-Morey feud. The two go all the way back to the Houston Rockets days, when James Harden was a star player while Daryl Morey was the general manager. In fact, after he joined the Philadelphia 76ers as the President of Basketball Operations, Morey worked to bring Harden into the team.
But the trust built over the years was lost this summer when the 76ers didn’t trade James following his request. The problem which started behind closed doors is now out in the public. While many believe this is an irreparable situation, one person thinks otherwise.

Former Knicks All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire sat down for a talk with The Knuckleheads podcast. Over the course of the chat, they touched on this situation and Amar’e had just one thing to say.
He explained, “I think it is salvageable. The best way to go about it at this point for James, is to have a conversation with Daryl Morey and really express how he feels and what the situation entails. And then be able to address that to the media in a sense.”
Amare’e is of the belief that the two should settle things behind closed doors. Since it was Harden who first came out to the media to publicly call Morey a liar, he thinks it better to send out a statement to the media that they are working things through. This way, Amare’e reckons, the team could get more cohesive and know that Harden is there for them.
But The Beard believes this relationship is doomed

The point guard on the other hand believes that his relationship with the front office is damaged beyond repair. He spoke to reporters last week, saying, “It’s not even about this situation. This is life. When you lose trust in someone, it’s like a marriage. When you lose trust in someone, you know what I mean? It’s pretty simple.”
Regardless of his displeasure, Harden did attend training camp and continues to practice with the 76ers. His trade request earlier stemmed from the fact that the Sixers did not make a move to secure his future with the team. “I wanted to be here and retire a Sixer, and the front office didn’t have that in their future plans,” Harden said. “It’s literally out of my control. It’s something I didn’t want to happen to be in this position.”

With the regular season starting next week, some were left wondering if this would affect the performance. But Harden assured that he would still put the work in. He added, “You can say whatever you wanna say about me, but you don’t get this far in this league without putting work in. That’s what I hang my hat on. So whenever things fail or things don’t go how you feel they should go, you just continue to work, and that’s it”.
