LeBron's wife faces daily struggles—do we underestimate the pressure on families of sports stars?

It’s equally hard to become a superstar athlete compared to living a superstar’s life. The naturally gifted athlete, LeBron James, went through a lot of sacrifices to reach great heights. Unfortunately, despite reaching heights, Bron and his family continue to sacrifice. Addressing the LA Lakers superstar’s daily struggle, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe alongside Chad Johnson put themselves in the shoes of James & family.

Speaking of LeBron James’ flamboyant lifestyle in the latest episode of Nightcap, Sharpe and Chad Johnson came to a unified conclusion. Sharpe said, “It’s great but I wouldn’t want that life… He can’t go nowhere. He and Savannah ain’t going to the movies.” Johnson, who listened to the take, added, “You know he too goddamn tall anyway if you wanted to sneak, you can’t even sneak.”

Moreover, Chad also added, “I couldn’t be that kind of famous. No, I’m too fuc*ing friendly. No, I don’t want to be that kind of famous. I’m too fuc*ing friendly man. I be there all goddamn hugging and talking to people.” Sharpe, being a former NFL star, agreed to the take undeniably.

On the other hand, LeBron James has no choice other than to put up with the uncontrollable public exposure. This was one of the reasons for Team USA basketball to live in a hotel away from the Olympic Village in Paris. Even then, King James certainly couldn’t escape the intrusive fans. Notably, the superstar’s snappy reaction to a young fan fetched him a lot of backlash.

After the glorious win over the French side in the Gold medal game, James, alongside his teammates, was in celebratory mode on the streets of Paris. As he got down from a van to head into a club, a young fan followed him, asking for a picture. James, who tolerated it for a moment, snapped back, shouting at him, “Stop! Stop! Stop! Don’t do that.”

LeBron James’ bizarre experience back in 2017

It’s not just about fans who try to get a picture or an autograph. Back in 2017, LeBron James and his family faced one such situation. The superstar hit the headlines when his house was vandalized with a racial slur amid the Cleveland Cavaliers 2017 NBA Finals campaign. The news went viral and even forced James to make an emotional statement.

The superstar said, “My family is safe. At the end of the day, they’re safe and that’s the most important. But it just goes to show that racism will always be a part of the world, a part of America. And hate in America, especially for African-Americans, is living every day.” Notably, NBC reported that someone had spray-painted the N-word on the gate.

However, these compromising situations don’t bother the 4x NBA Champion as he once said, “Whatever success I have had is never enough. I always want more.” So, it’s almost clear that LeBron James could sacrifice his privacy to achieve great heights in the field of basketball. Stepping into his 22nd season, James has tied up with Vince Carter for most seasons ever played in the NBA. The superstar may as well break his record in the coming seasons.
