Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a top-three player in the NBA for around five years. The 28-year-old has led his team to an NBA title, has won the MVP award twice, and continues to dominate opposition. As a seven-foot-tall player, his ability to play as a Wing, Power Forward, and Center is a rare asset. His handles just add to the spice. His devotion to the game only keeps growing, and the tireless worker looks to improve every season.

These are the reasons why the Greek Freak is always putting up big numbers. His thirst for another title is clear and without him, the Milwaukee Bucks are not even a shadow of what they are. In this wake, the learning process has continued for him. And why wouldn’t he turn to the legend of the game?

Before the training camp with this legend, appearing on the ‘48 minutes’ podcast, Antetokounmpo talked about an epic training camp. He said, “I love his game, and if I can kind of take a few things from his game or learn anything from the few days I’m going to spend with him, it’s going to be a blessing”.

Hakeem Olajuwon has trained MVP-level players constantly. Kobe Bryant trained under him and further enhanced his beautiful post-up game. LeBron James learned a ton from The Dream and incorporated his moves. This incorporation has helped him develop an even more lethal half-court style that conserves energy. Despite the three-point era sweeping in, the two-time NBA champion’s game style remains relevant.

It is because players from all positions can learn a lot through their versatile moves. Whether it be changing gears quickly in the low block or going to a post fadeaway, Dream had it all. His Dream Shake move continues to be a model to emulate. Therefore, it was natural that Giannis Antetokounmpo trained with him. And he had an exhilarating experience as a student. In his Instagram photos, both Greek Freak and The Dream look in great shape. The session led him to “appreciate greatness” of the incredible athlete further.

His zeal to improve is clear here. Looking at ‘Akeem, who still looks in tip-top shape, it looks like he can still give players trouble. Therefore, Antetokounmpo’s workout with an exhilarating legend must be mesmerizing and a challenging experience. But Gilbert Arenas is not a fan of Olajuwon’s pricey training sessions.

Gilbert Arenas dissed The Dream

Arenas had questioned the $50, 000 price tag for these sessions. Questioning the relevance of Olajuwon’s style, he expressed, “I’m sorry, but nobody doing this sh*t no more. You should be ashamed of yourself, charging these young whipper snappers 50”.

However, one of Arenas’ own friends, former Timberwolves scorer Rashad McCants, disagreed with him. Paul Pierce and Stephen A. Smith joined the chorus too. They reminded Arenas that superstars Bryant and James got better after learning from him.

Whatever the three-time All-Star Arenas believes, Antetokounmpo had an experience that can make him even more unstoppable. Will that help him get to two championships like The Dream?
