Most people know Stephen Curry as an NBA superstar. But when he is not showcasing his skills on the court, Steph still has an important role to play of a loving husband, a responsible father, and a caring son for his family. And the Warriors star is constantly seen excelling in those roles, whether it’s supporting his wife in her business ventures or being there for his children’s journey. So, when Steph’s daughter Riley Curry took to the court for her volleyball match, the Baby-Faced Assassin had front row seats to cheer her on, leaving the NBA world in a frenzy.

Wearing a grey hoodie with gym shorts and a backward cap, Steph shocked everyone when he made a surprise appearance at a school gym for a volleyball game. Confused after seeing the Warriors star at her tournament, one participant even posted a video of him sitting front row and asked, “Why is Curry at my tournament?”

Meanwhile, the mother of one player tweeted about Steph being at her kid’s game and even threw shade at his fans, “Steph Curry is at my kid’s volleyball tournament and it’s so weird watching grown men turn into groupies.” Similar to Steph, there were many other fathers and young athletes at that gym who probably were huge fans of the Warriors legend and were shocked to be in the same room as him. So, it is understandable why the fanboy inside them emerged when they saw one of the greatest players ever casually sitting among them.

However, while people were confused at his presence in the arena, it soon became clear that Steph was there to support his 11-year-old daughter Riley who was also playing in the tournament.

While Steph’s presence brought confusion for a few people, he received overwhelming support from the fans after Overtime posted the video on Instagram. Clearing the confusion about why Steph was at that game, another mother of a player criticized her peer for the insensitive tweet, “My daughter’s team was playing at the same tournament and Steph was there to support his daughter. Someone please deactivate this lady’s twitter account 🤦🏻” Meanwhile, another fan answered the first girl’s question with a sarcastic response, “‘Why is curry at my volleyball tournament’ hmmm idk maybe cuz he has kids 😂”

Another Steph faithful defended him and appreciated him for being a good and responsible father, “Mans just tryna support his daughter?! 😭 be good dad????” However, one fan could not believe that Steph was at a kids’ tournament and questioned the legitimacy of the posted video, “Dats definitely not curry 😂” Yes, the video was not as clear as fans would have liked, but it was still Steph in that video. Amid all the chaos, one fan requested everyone to let him watch the game without any distractions, “Let bro watch his daughter play volleyball in peace.”

In an interview last year, Steph revealed Riley’s newfound love for volleyball and how she constantly dribbles and passes around the ball all over the house excited to play and go to practice. Then, bursting with pride, Steph told how “cool” it was to watch the passionate side of Riley and hoped to encourage it as much as possible.
