“It’s okay to accept and acknowledge that the end is near.” At 36-years-old, Stephen Curry understands that his days as an NBA player are numbered. Of course, it is evident from his declining stats and constant injury woes. But even now, he occasionally defies Father Time and reminds everyone why he is one of the all-time greats. Well, yesterday was one of those nights as Steph surpassed Hall of Famer Ray Allen on the all-time scoring list. And he did it with a smile on his face.

When asked what moments like these mean to him, The Baby-Faced Assassin hilariously questioned the reporter, “You see the grey hair?” Yes, Steph confronted his career’s harsh reality head on, but also realized that still being in the league while your hair turn grey is a privilege not many get, “It just means that you’re just blessed to keep playing this game at a high level. I thank God every day that this is a space I’ve been able to live in for 16 years.”

Of course, he also gave Ray his flowers upon surpassing him to become the 27 leading scorer, “The names, AI (Allen Iverson) a couple of weeks ago, Ray today, like guys that I grew up watching. My generation, who inspired me to love the game the way I do. So, definitely special. Shoutout to Ray.” Well, AI was one of the league’s most influential athletes, with his arm sleeves, tattoos, and of course his basketball skills. And Ray was arguably the best shooter ever until Steph arrived. So, its only right that Curry paid homage to the two legends on his special night.
