The NBA Trade deadline is right around the corner and trade rumors have been flying across the league. Discussions and decisions must be made before February 8th, 2024. Amid this chatter, a clip has surfaced showing Larry David talking to Leon Rose’s father, and he’s got some advice for the Knicks President Leon Rose.

Raised in Brooklyn, NY, and a lifelong supporter of the New York Knicks, Larry David is best known for Curb Your Enthusiasm and is a passionate sports enthusiast. The Knicks have enjoyed a phenomenal run this season, winning 15 out of their last 17 games. However, it has been 23 years since their last appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Speculations have been afoot to suggest that the Knicks are looking for some reinforcements. With Julius Randle out injured, the Knicks need to reinforce their inside paint presence. While Isiah Hartenstein offers some length, they have no other reliable replacement for their All-Star power forward. Taj Gibson was brought back on a 10-day contract to hilarious reactions from Knicks fans, but he is not the only solution.

With that in mind, lifelong fan Larry David asked Leon Rose to “consult” him before making any moves at all. Jokingly, he went on to state that he wanted “a phone call”.

New Rumors, New Deals

After a prolonged strained relationship, on February 4th, 2023 Knicks’ Leon Rose and Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul sat down for a meeting and “addressed what needed to be addressed” and will be looking “forward to what a new relationship can be” in the future.

Paul, who manages and represents his longtime friend LeBron James along with other players such as Zach LaVine and Dejounte Murray, had friction with the Knicks Rose on account of a previous association between him and Paul’s rival group Creative Artists Agency.

Rumors have surrounded James’ trade to the NY Knicks but Paul has completely shut them down and stated that James would move out of the Lakers before the deadline. However, soon after their “hashing out” meeting, James replied to “The Shop” Paul Riviera’s apple emoji with a Statue of Liberty and Crown emoji, leading some to interpret it as “King of New York”.

The Knicks are on the lookout to increase their arsenal. Among others, Memphis Grizzlies’ Xavier Tillman, Wizards center Daniel Gafford, or Hawks forward A.J. Griffin seem to be the ideal options considering the Knicks are looking for a “backup big man” to bolster their roster depth.
