Rapper Lil Wayne lashed out at the Los Angeles Lakers. During tonight’s home game against the Washington Wizards, the superstar rapper alleged that he was mistreated amid the intense action. He also recalled back to the time when he dropped a harsh statement on Anthony Davis. And he stated that it could be the reason behind the mistreatment.
Wayne took to his X handle and put a long paragraph, stating his concern. The post read, “Wow! Got treated like sh*t at the Laker game just now but I figured they’d do me that sooner or later either bc of what i said abt AD or simply bc they don’t fwm which I been got that vibe from em as well so all good I get it. F*ck em. It isn’t what it isn’t. I’m used to it.”

Wayne is not only known for his lyrical prowess but he is also known for not shying away from making bold statements. Especially when it comes to basketball. Being a loyal Lakers fan, the superstar went a little overboard with his comments on Anthony Davis last season.
Ahead of the 2023 postseason, AD had a tough time recovering from a foot injury. He missed the majority of the games in that season. And it looked like the Lakers were nowhere closer to claim a spot in the postseason. At that time, Lil Wayne dropped a harsh statement on Davis in an Undisputed episode. He said, “If the Lakers want to be a championship team in the future as well, you gotta get rid of AD,”
However, the rapper’s words didn’t age well, as AD played a crucial role in the Lakers’ playoff run till the Conference Finals, averaging 22 points with 14 rebounds.
On the other hand, there isn’t any development in Wayne’s tonight’s accusation. But this isn’t first when the rapper had stirred up a controversy. Let’s take a look at a similar incident from the past.
Wayne once claimed that he was banned from the NBA
Yes, the rapper once claimed that he was banned from attending any NBA event. In 2013, at the end of the All-Star weekend, Lil Wayne picked up the mic at his Houston performance and opened up to the public. He said, “The NBA banned me from all NBA events. I’ve gotta let you know why though … it’s because the Miami Heat told them to ban me.”

However, the NBA immediately responded back that he wasn’t banned from attending games, reported Yahoo Sports. Notably, the current stir-up can also turn into a similar event.
