The team was a top-three contender in the Western Conference for the last two seasons. They were thought to be in the mix for this season?s deep playoffs. Bigger picture, they rank worst in offense despite playing two of the league?s bottom four defenses in the Jazz and Washington,? said John about the worrying start.?

Grizzlies have no real option in the absence of Ja Morant

Technically, Ja Morant will play his first game after mid-December. The Grizzlies have a lot of work to do if they want to turn things around this season in his absence. In Morant?s absence, all the offensive load has fallen on Desmond Bane, who is averaging the team?s highest 24.6 points per game. They need another scoring threat, in the form of the reigning MVP Derrick Rose.?
