Following Stephen Curry’s offseason golf glory, his tribe is on the course like never before. The latest to follow suit is Jayson Tatum. The four-time NBA All-Star is competing in a golf competition in the absence of the maestro Tiger Woods. The best in the business?is missing this year’s PGA tour. But the golf legend’s absence is hardly derailing the NBA player’s alternate sports drive.

And with NBA season still months away, the Boston Celtics star was seen competing against seasoned golfers. He even shared the golf course with none other than the World’s No. 3 golfer, at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in what proved to be a legendary crossover episode

Jayson Tatum’s Swing to New Sport

Tatum got to play with the winner of the Masters 2023 Jon Rahm who took first place in the FedEx Cup standings this year. Rahm was the PGA Player of the Year in 2021 and is the No. 3 golfer in the world currently. Tatum took to social media to post a photo with one of the best golfers in the world at the moment.

Given his strong ties to Memphis, Tatum grabbed the chance to participate in the FedEx St. Jude Championship where the prize pool was $20,000,00. He grew up in Memphis because his stepfather, Jake Barnes, is a native. Many locals even have vivid memories of young Tatum playing AAU basketball while wearing a Memphis War Eagles jersey.

The Boston Celtics star has spent a little more than two years perfecting his golf swing. He was nervous though, as he was about to make his pro-am debut alongside golf’s elite players. Tatum won’t be joined by the greatest golfer to grace the greens however, but that didn’t stop him from paying his respects to the legendary Tiger Woods.

Jayson Tatum paid tribute to the legendary golfer Tiger Woods during Game 5 of the NBA Finals. He wore a Tiger Woods T-shirt, drawing inspiration from one of the greatest athletes in their sport.

Due to his recent surgery Woods was unable to compete in the US Open, which was very saddening for all golf fans as well as Tatum. To honor the legend, Tatum chose to wear the Tiger Woods T-shirt for his game, demonstrating his affinity for drawing motivation from the iconic athlete.
