Amid the NBA playoff frenzy, golfing stars have been sharing the limelight for the last few days. Especially today, 30-year-old Xander Schauffele hijacked the attention of many for a brief moment with his first major win. One of those fans was Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. The second-best golfer in the NBA world sent out a special appreciative message after Schauffele’s first PGA Championship. Of course, Michael Jordan takes the first spot.
Curry took to his Instagram stories and shared a hype reel of Xander Schauffele and wrote, “Major Champ,” with a raising hands emoji. The golfing star engaged in a tense final round, which could have been anyone’s game. The rising star went against 9 players with strokes to take the lead and eventually, he came out on top.
The Californian golfer had an emotional win at the US PGA Championship. Following the game, he said, “I was emotional after the putt lipped in… It’s been a while since I’ve won – I really did not want to go into a play-off with Bryson.”

The last stroke was against DeChambeau and the world No.3 golfer held his nerve and made the crucial stroke. He also hilariously added how his dad made him cry. Schauffele said, “My dad is in Hawaii and I managed to call him, but I had to hang up quickly because he was making me cry.”
Stephen Curry, on the other hand, who has a long off-season ahead, hinted at his golfing expedition with his IG story. The NBA world might see plenty of Steph in golfing attire for the next few months.
