On October 29th, the Golden State Warriors will host the New Orleans Pelicans at the iconic Chase Center. The Warriors are riding high after an impressive start. This season so far they’ve been showcasing dominant performances, including a perfect 6-0 record in preseason. But they didn’t stop there. In the regular season opener, they showcased a powerful 140-104 victory over Portland. After that, 127-86, was another huge victory against the Jazz, but their latest outing against the Clippers ended in disappointment.

On the other side, the Pelicans also started strong in the preseason, winning their first game against the Magic. Then came a match cancellation against the Orlando side because of concerns over Hurricane Milton, and back-to-back losses to the Heat and Rockets. Yet, they bounced back in the season opener against the Bulls, 123-111. The positive streak continued over Portland, but a rough loss in game 3 leaves them with a 2-1 record as well.

Who will rise to the occasion? As both squads clash, fans can expect intensity, strategy, and a few surprises. This game promises to be exciting, with both teams eager to establish dominance in the West. But they face heartbreaking injuries before the game.

Is Stephen Curry playing? Dejounte Murray listed ‘out’ after surgery

There is no doubt that Steph Curry & Co. will continue their dominance, or will they? Anthony Slater of The Athletic has tweeted an update that would break hearts. “Steph Curry will miss the Warriors’ next two games against the Pelicans after his ankle sprain last night, I’m told. No structural damage. Evaluated again Friday prior to five-game road trip.”

The Splash Bro rolled his ankle while cutting toward the baseline, defended by Kris Dunn. This happened twice quickly, causing him to limp off the court toward the locker room. His missing the next two matches against the Pelicans will affect their strategy. But there are more heartbreaking injury updates coming from the Warriors.

What’s your perspective on:

Can the Warriors maintain their dominance without Steph Curry leading the charge against the Pelicans?

Have an interesting take?

Anthony Slater tweets about yet another injury update. “Another injury issue for the Warriors: De’Anthony Melton is also out against the Pelicans tomorrow. Right facet inflammation, the team is calling it. Warriors are being careful with Melton, who missed a large chunk of last season with a back issue.” Just like Curry, Melton underwent an MRI but showed no structural damage and will be re-evaluated on Friday, GSW confirms in their official statement. However, the Warriors injury report doesn’t stop here.

ESPN’s Kendra Andrews tweeted, “Andrew Wiggins is also considered questionable for tomorrow’s game with a lower back strain, Steve Kerr says. The depth they’ve been so high on is about to be tested.” The hooper, last night, had the best game of the season. In just 29 minutes, he scored 29 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 block. The big update for Wiggs is that he is day-to-day, hoping to play.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans are also facing even injuries.

Their guard, Dejounte Murray, and forward Trey Murphy III are listed as “out” in the injury report. Murray had surgery on a fractured left hand and will be out for 4-6 weeks. He injured it while attempting a contested three-pointer late in the fourth quarter against the Bulls, falling hard. Meanwhile, Murphy III, who strained his right hamstring on October 2, has started his rehab, update in two weeks.

As both teams prepare, with these setbacks, let’s look into their depth chart and see their options.
