When you’re a teammate of Draymond Green, you’re bound to get frustrated once he starts swinging his hands. Steph Curry felt that last season, while Steve Kerr felt the same and so did the Dubs nation. Where did that lead them? Straight to a season that will not be having the same dynasty. And that’s the exact reason why everyone in and around the Warriors camp is pumped up.
Amid all this, Draymond Green even leaked training camp secrets regarding Steve Kerr. According to the swingman, his HC and the other coaches are just plain “annoying”. That is exactly what the vet said during his latest appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio.
As a part of the season’s preview, the inevitable question about desire and hunger came up. Answering it, Draymond Green said, “Coaches are annoying right now. And that, to me, is a sign of hunger. Like, they’re annoying the hell out of us right now. And I have zero problems admitting that. But when you walk away from the annoyance, you say, man, but this is great. This is amazing.”

“They need to annoy us right now. They’re working us crazy right now, but we need that because that means they’re hungry, too. We didn’t make the playoffs last year. You don’t just get to walk back in like, oh, we’re the same old warriors,” the center continued.

“We’re gonna do it again. What you gonna do again? Not make the playoffs again? And so there’s a hunger flying around this building that I haven’t felt in many years,” Draymond Green concluded. Sticking to the topic of ‘feeling’ around the camp, the Bay Area’s floor general even dived into the aftermath of Klay Thompson‘s exit. While Dray has already chalked up his robust “running through his chest” plan to stop the Splash Bro when they meet, the sharpshooter’s void is something that even his words cannot fill.

Draymond Green only uttered two words before the Klay Thompson deal was confirmed. “He gone,” Draymond told his wife after getting a serious call from the guard. Fast forward to the eve of the beginning of the Golden State Warriors NBA season, and the mood has changed. Even the veteran believes normalcy is returning despite the major emotional and physical loss for the franchise.
“With Klay leaving, which is a big deal. Klay, everything you see around here, including this building, Klay took part in making it happen. Training camp almost felt going to Hawaii, almost felt like it was the end of that chapter, and that’s what we needed,” Draymond Green told Rob Perez and Sarah Kustok of SiriusXM NBA Radio, with the hooper slamming the table when he said ‘end’.
The Warriors are without a loss against their name in the preseason. The last time it happened was in 2022 and we all know how that year ended. But the big issue is that Stephen Curry is two years older, and so is Draymond Green. Klay is no longer in the picture.

Despite some moves in the offseason, the Dubs are starting the season as no one’s favorite (probably apart from the hopeful Bay Area fans). But as Dray said, there is a hunger, there is annoying coaching, and hopefully there will be a silver lining at the end of the season.
