The quest for elite hoopers who can be next to Stephen Curry on the court is still on from the Golden State Warriors. Yet they know somewhere that it’s a far-fetched dream that can only come through a miracle or a mind-blowing deal for an All-Star level player. However, they can target free agency who are available at the end of this season or get someone through trade. It takes seconds to settle a deal in the NBA, and there is someone whom Joe Lacob would love to pair alongside Stephen Curry at no. 2, especially after Klay Thompson’s adieu to the Golden dynasty.
Recently, The Athletic’s Sam Amick commented on the Warriors’ quest for a new star on ‘The TK Show’ podcast on September 12. “One that I think is just always going to be monitored around the NBA is if the wheels fall off the [Milwaukee] Bucks, and we know that Joe Lacob has had kind of dreams of Giannis coming the Warriors’ way for a very long time, “ The Athletic insider revealed on the podcast. As per Amick, 2x NBA MVP might be on the radar of the Warriors owner Joe Lacob. However, he did a footnote to his assumption before making any further remarks.
“Again, unlikely.” It’s almost impossible for the Warriors to land Giannis for now since the Bucks star has already signed a three-year maximum veteran extension with the Bucks. The whopping $175 million amount would credit approximately $58 million annually from 2025-2027 and then a player option worth $63 million. The second reason can be the requisite from the Warriors squad for only small ballers. The Greek freak has about 7 ft stature, and the Warriors don’t ask for anyone above 6’7″ or 6’9″ as they are more dependent on shooting than the one with a ‘Go get ’em’ attitude. Then who can be the suitable addition to the roster since the Bucks star is unlikely to co-star with Curry on Golden State Warriors?

Jimmy Butler can be the answer to the Golden State Warriors’ callout for a number 2 player
Ever since Klay Thompson, various rumors have splashed throughout the offseason on All-Stars discussing a deal with Joe Lacob. First, they approached King James. However, his agent, Rich Paul, did not even present the idea to LeBron and shut it down right away. Then the Warriors front office went after Lauri Markkanen and Paul George. Both times, teams were asking for more than they were giving, either in money or players on trade. When it did not work, Joe Lacob clinched Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson, and De’Anthony Melton as role players on the Warriors squad.
Sam Amick had got a rather intriguing option for Joe Lacob as he said, “You need the wheels to fall off somewhere, like you said not free agency wise talking trade wise. …Jimmy Butler is going to be a free agent next summer, didn’t get an extension done.”
“The Warriors, you know, have interest there and, I think, probably made a couple of calls during the summer. That name comes to mind, “ The Athletic insider added on the offseason moves from Warriors in hindsight.
And Butler fits in with what the Warriors demand. He’s a 6’7″ player who’ll earn $52 million with a player option for the 2025-26 season. If the Heat star drops the player option, the Warriors might for the star. Steph is 36 right now, and we can expect him for three or four years at least on the court in the NBA. If Joe Lacob and the Golden State Warriors land the Butler deal next summer, their championship ambition might not sound delusional.
