The Warriors fans were elated when they won against the Wizards. But it came at a cost. Draymond Green was suiting up for the Bay after missing three games. Which was surprising because he was originally listed as out due to illness. But after just three minutes on the floor, he walked back to the locker room with a left calf strain. Talk about a short-lived return.

Draymond Green won’t be suiting up for the Golden State Warriors on Monday against the Boston Celtics. The 34-year-old forward is dealing with a left calf strain. Steve Kerr revealed he will undergo an MRI on Sunday, and the team will provide an update the next day. Green, who’s been averaging 8.4 points, 6 rebounds, and 5.5 assists this season, has had a tough stretch. He missed three games before Saturday’s contest due to a disc issue and illness, and he also sat out a December game with tightness in that same left calf.

Injuries are lining up for Golden State, even Steph Curry is questionable against the Celtics. Although, Anthony Slater revealed, “He indicated last night he planned to play.” Moving further down the injury list, since Jan. 4, Jonathan Kuminga’s been out with a right ankle injury, leaving a gap in the Bay Area side’s lineup. On top of that, Brandin Podziemski’s been sidelined since Dec. 28 due to an abdominal injury. And let’s not forget about Kyle Anderson, who’s still dealing with a glute issue.

With Green out now, the Warriors will have to face the C’s, who have the third-best offensive rating in the NBA. Plus, the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is something to worry about for Steve Kerr. Boston even boasts the fifth-highest scoring average in the league (117.5 ppg). This is going to be a tough challenge for the head coach.

While Kerr must be busy trying to chalk up a plan to stop the Celtics defense, Draymond was focusing on making amends.

Is it too late for Draymond Green to seek forgiveness now?

The drama between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole isn’t going anywhere. Green, who was once Poole’s teammate with the Golden State Warriors, now shares a complicated history with the 25-year-old guard, especially after Green punched him during a preseason practice in 2022, leading to the latter’s trade. He has apologized for his actions multiple times, but Poole?

What’s your perspective on:

Is Draymond Green's apology to Jordan Poole too little, too late for Warriors' harmony?

Have an interesting take?

Not so much—Poole still hasn’t let it go.

Fast forward to the recent game between Poole’s new team, the Washington Wizards, and the Warriors, where he was reflecting on the match-up after the Wizards’ 122-114 loss. He made sure to share a little extra: “I love those guys over there,” followed by “I love most of those guys over there.” Pretty pointed, right?

Fans immediately took that as a possible jab at Green, and it didn’t take long for the four-time All-Star to catch wind of it. Green responded to the remark with a simple but heartfelt message: “I really am sorry,” which says a lot without saying too much.

It’s clear that there are still a lot of unresolved feelings here, and honestly, it’s one of those situations where both sides are doing their best to move forward, but the past is still hanging in the air.
