Despite veteran joining ranks following a long injury, Warriors won’t be the same tonight. The update came when the race for the playoff spot in the Western Conference is starting to heat up. With less than 30 games remaining, no less than 12 teams are vying for eight playoff spots. Of course, the Golden State Warriors are firmly in the hunt. However, rather than occupying top spots in the standings, the Dubs have slipped down to the lower ranks of the table.
They face the Washington Wizards in their next match. However, the Warriors would have to face the Wizards without the services of Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins’ absence may have dampened a previously expectant mood surrounding the Warriors, especially with Chris Paul’s return from a lengthy injury lay-off.
Andrew Wiggins is now listed as out for the Warriors tonight against the Wizards. Personal reasons. It’s the open of a four-game road trip.

The Warriors have listed Wiggins as out for tonight’s game against the Warriors. Wiggins’ absence has puzzled some fans, as he didn’t suffer any evident injuries. But according to the Athletics’ Anthony Slater, Wiggins’ absence could be attributed to “personal reasons.” Wiggins’ absence would be a significant blow, especially as he was starting to recover his form. Wiggins has recorded 14.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in his last 10 games. However, the Dubs will be bolstered by the return of Chris Paul, who hasn’t played since 5th January.
Paul suffered a left-hand fracture against the Detroit Pistons. He had to undergo a surgery in order to repair his fractured hand, but CP3 has now fully recovered. Following the Dubs’ loss to the Nuggets, HC Steve Kerr disclosed his strategy for incorporating Paul back into the team. He said, “Chris will play all of the non-Steph minutes, and he’ll be out there with Steph as well. It’s easier for us to put Steph off the ball and take some of the wear and tear off of him when Chris is out there.”

Predicted Lineups: Wizards vs Warriors
The Warriors go into the game as heavy favorites. Despite missing Andrew Wiggins, fans of the Warriors would expect a win. Furthermore, they enter the game as one of the hottest teams in the league, having won 8 out of their last 10 matches. The Wizards pose little to no treat, and barring a massive surprise, the Dubs should win this match easily. They could start the game with Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Klay Thompson, Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green.

The Washington Wizards are considered massive underdogs. However, that could work in their favor, as they would play without any fear and pressure. The game will also hold immense significance for Jordan Poole, who won the 2022 NBA title with the Dubs. With the odds stacked against them, the Wizards could begin the game with Tyus Jones, Landry Shamet, Kyle Kuzma, Deni Avdija and Marvin Bagley III.
