Draymond Green isn’t always the biggest man on the court, but he has a wide wingspan, great strength, versatility, and flexibility on the defense, along with an off-the-charts game IQ. Thanks to his sheer dominance on the court, the 2x All-NBA star has always been a crucial piece for the Warriors. Unfortunately, this has now been, to a degree, overshadowed by his repeated behavioral issues.

His indefinite suspension amidst their struggling phase will weigh heavily on the team. This season alone, he has been suspended three times. All the ejections and suspensions come with consequences and have burned a hole in his pockets. Let us take a look at how much money Draymond has lost in fines this year.

As per the NBA rules, these punishments are not without fines. Considering that this year alone, Draymond has had multiple run-ins with the officials, his total fines for 2023 add up to a staggering $1,655,479; that’s gotta burn a huge hole in his pockets. For the Rudy Gobert incident alone, Draymond had to pay $769,704, which was accompanied by a five-game suspension.

The most recent incident, when DrayMagic took a big swing at Jusuf Nurkic’s face, resulted in indefinite suspension, a decision the league came to thanks to his repeated history of similar behavior. According to ESPN, if the suspension lasts less than 20 games, he will be fined $153,941 per game; if it lasts more than that, it will be $202,922 per game. While we’re talking about the numbers, let’s get things out of the way and see how much money he has lost in fines throughout his career.

When he went after his teammate

When we add up all the fines Draymond had to pay over the 12 seasons of his career, it amounts to a whopping $2,701,603! As if this wasn’t enough, Draymond is infamous for going after his own teammates. Back in October 2022, he punched former teammate Joran Poole. Although the reasons are unknown, Draymond was fined by the team.

Despite all the fines that he has had to pay over the years, it doesn’t make up for all the games he is missing while his teammates are at their wit’s end. They have fallen to the 5th position in the Pacific Division despite a great start and Draymond’s absence doesn’t make it any better for the Dubs.
