“This one does sting for sure,” said Stephen Curry after the Warriors lost to the Raptors, a team that you’d expect was an easy match for Golden State. The Warriors’ 12-3 start to the season now feels like a distant memory. They’ve lost 17 out of their last 24 games, dropping to 12th place in the Western Conference. At this point, they’re out of the playoff and play-in hunt. Ever since the trade window opened, there have been talks of the Dubs acquiring a big name.
After all, something’s got to give if they want to keep their championship hopes alive, right? Considering Steph Curry is in his twilight years, the Warriors would want to make the most out of them. But what would it cost? Would the price of a big star be worth it?
Steve Kerr doesn’t think so.

The 59-year-old coach expressed full trust in the Warriors’ front office while appearing on the 97.5 The Game WillardandDibs podcast, saying, “I have 100% faith in our organization to do whatever the right thing is and sometimes the right thing is to not do anything.”
He added, “Mike is so good at his job. I feel in great hands with him and the whole organization.” Kerr emphasized that the team is thoroughly evaluating all options, but he’s also a little apprehensive.
“I have 100% faith in our organization to do whatever the right thing is and sometimes the right thing is to not do anything. It depends on what you’re going to do, what that means. The 9x champ noted that risking the future for a short-term fix would be a reckless move. He’s thinking ahead, in line with the Warriors two-timeline strategy. “I probably won’t be around, but I would tell you, if this organization gave away the next 6 or 7 drafts for a wild swing, that would be the most irresponsible thing they could do,” Kerr admitted to Anthony Slater at shootaround before they took on the Raptors.
The other two running the Warriors show with Kerr—Stephen Curry and Draymond Green—also feel the same.
The cornerstones of the Warriors, do not want to spoil the future of the franchise
The Golden State Warriors are facing their first sub-.500 record of the season after a tough loss to the Toronto Raptors, dropping to 19-20. This is a pivotal moment, with many fans expecting the team to make a bold mid-season move. But the four-time NBA Champion, Steph Curry, isn’t buying into the panic trade mindset. He told reporters, “Desperate trades or desperate moves that deplete the future — there is a responsibility on keeping the franchise in a good space…when we’re done.”
In the past, building around Curry was a smooth process for the Warriors. But of late, the team has encountered some bumps. With a collection of young assets but a narrowing championship window, the pressure’s on. As the trade deadline approaches, the Golden State knows the importance of being unified in its approach.

Even Draymond revealed to Yahoo Sports‘ Vince Goodwill that he, Curry, and coach Steve Kerr are all on the same page about avoiding any knee-jerk moves. They’re all firmly against sacrificing the team’s future for a quick fix.
“The beautiful part about being in the space that we’re in is, Steve Kerr, Steph Curry and myself all disagree with mortgaging off the future of this organization, saying that we’re going for it right now,” Green said. “Bad teams do that. Bad organizations do that. We’re not neither one.”

It’s clear: the Warriors are thinking long-term, and they want to keep their eyes on the prize. They’re not falling into the trap of desperation.
