“Who knows how long it will last, but we’re trying to get out of this hole any way we can. You’ve got to play a little desperate, do desperate things, at this point.” Stephen Curry was blunt after the Warriors’ recent matchup against the Nuggets.

The Bay Area team recorded their 5th consecutive loss, diminishing their record to 12-8. Potentially looking to avoid a similar run as the previous season, everyone from Steve Kerr to Stephen Curry has been open to experiment. But if the ongoing season has taught us anything, it is that injuries can really harm a team. For GSW, whose progression is stagnant, things are just about to get worse.

Earlier today, Reporter Anthony Slater revealed that both Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are declared ‘out’ of the upcoming matchup against the Rockets. Having recently sustained a bilateral knee ailment, only weeks after he recovered from an ankle injury that benched him, Curry is now set to miss his 2nd game over the last 4. The doctors scheduled him for an MRI earlier today, but his injury’s condition is apparently not satisfactory enough to allow him to return to the court.

The Houston Rockets are the franchise against whom Stephen Curry and Co. have managed to crack a perfect 10-0 record. In fact, the last time that Tilman Fertitta’s squad won against the Bay Area side was back in February 2020!

So, the upcoming matchup was the perfect chance for the Warriors to get out of their losing rut. However, two leading stars being out will reduce the odds. This further upset fans during a period of despair.

Fans react to Stephen Curry and Draymond Green getting sidelined: “This team is beyond cursed”

“This season is over” was all that one fan needed to post. We get the idea. GSW potentially raised hope amongst Bay Area fans with a memorable 10-2 win start. Therefore, it didn’t help that, within the span of a few more games, the same record now stands at 12-8!

A few of the fans may still be recovering from the fact that Steve Kerr’s team, which won four championship titles during their prime, could not even make it past the play-in series last season. Therefore, the last thing that they would want is Déjà vu.

What’s your perspective on:

Are the Warriors doomed without Curry and Green, or can they still turn this season around?

Have an interesting take?

Even though Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are sidelined due to important reasons, it isn’t enough to appease one social media user. He took to the comments section, posting, “Oh so they just don’t even care about losing all these games in a row. I wanna see a trade made within the next couple weeks don’t wait until the deadline”.

Well, if any Warrior would be considered for a trade, then Stephen Curry and Draymond Green would be dead last on the list. After all, they’ve been with the Warriors for 15 and 12 years, respectively. So, the management would instead have to look at the younger players. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Jonathan Kuminga has “drawn the most trade interest for Golden State over the years and is expected to do so again ahead of restricted free agency this summer”.

BVM Sports identifies Kevon Looney as a potential target of acquisition for the New York Knicks. An NBA executive has cited Moses Moody as part of a larger trade package. If the Warriors continue at their current pace, a trade may seem inevitable.

For one individual, it was hilarious that the Warriors were ‘tanking’ at the same time as the LA Lakers. A literal repeat of the previous season! This may have caused him to write, “Warriors and Lakers (laughing emoji) season is over.”

The Lakers have seen a steep downfall over the last couple of days. They won only 2 of their 8 most recent games, and have their record currently standing at 12-10. LeBron James had advised not to have too many expectations, given the hiring of JJ Redick as HC and overall changes to the squad. The recent Heat-Lakers matchup saw the latter losing by 134-93!

The performance was enough to even bring out the criticism from Magic Johnson. The fact that the two most popular NBA franchises are in this position may not be appealing at all.

A fan has started anticipating another loss, “6 game losing streak. This team is beyond cursed. We cannot catch a damn break”.

It is true that not having Stephen Curry and Draymond Green greatly reduces the win odds for the Warriors. And it doesn’t help that the Houston Rockets have secured a 10-3 record over the last few weeks. Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga will still manage to assist well on the scoring front. The absence of the star duo may motivate Buddy Hield to take charge offensively. Therefore, while the odds may favor the Rockets, we should not count the Warriors out so easily. At least for now.

The above-mentioned commenter isn’t the only one who seems to have given up hope. Another individual wrote, “Just rest then for the season at this point. We ain’t overcoming 6 straight L’s in the West. I’m dead serious btw.”

The Western Conference teams this season have certainly put up a tougher fight. Teams like the Nuggets and Wolves, which went far in the playoffs last season, now occupy the 8th and 11th seeds, respectively. The Warriors and the Lakers are 7th and 9th, respectively.

Meanwhile, OKC Thunder, Rockets, and Mavericks occupy the top spots. Therefore, any worsening of the win record will only make things worse for the Warriors. They will reach a stage from which it will be tough for them to recover and make it to the playoffs.

Overall, the majority of reactions highlighted fans not being happy with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green’s injuries. Whether the Warriors can still manage to live up to their 10-0 record against the Rockets and deliver is something that only time will tell.
