Tragedy Torments Warriors Locker Room as Medical Emergency Shocks Private Team Dinner

It’s bad luck after bad luck for the Warriors, who have been struggling to stay afloat this season, and now they have to be without their Assistant Coach Dejan Milojevic. The 46-year-old suffered a medical emergency on Tuesday at a restaurant in Salt Lake City during a private team dinner. Milojevic was then hospitalized almost immediately.

The type of emergency was not specified by the team but the gravity of the situation seems serious. As a result, sources now suggest that the team will cancel Wednesday’s scheduled shootaround as a sign of solidarity. Moreover, the entire team seems to be taken aback by the incident.

The Warriors are in a state of shock

According to an X post by the San Francisco Chronicles’ Connor Letourneau, “In the wake of assistant coach Dejan Milojevic’s health emergency, the Warriors canceled Wednesday morning’s scheduled shootaround at the University of Utah.” Accordingly, the team will use this time to engage in solemn prayer for their Assistant Coach. A spokesperson of the team had also told Connor, “We’re in prayer mode.” The unprecedented incident has caught all team members by surprise, all of whom are reportedly “shaken.”

The team also said in a news release that an update on Milojevic will be provided “as appropriate.” It seems like the Warriors can’t catch a break this season. Amidst the injuries, weak stats, and poor performances, Asst. Coach Milojevic’s health scare adds to the list of their woes. However, the NBA has recently extended some kindness to the team.

Wednesday’s game has been postponed

According to a post on X by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the league has decided to postpone Dub Nation’s Wednesday game against the Utah Jazz. The post read, “ESPN Sources: With the serious medical situation surrounding assistant coach Dejan Milojevic, the NBA is postponing Golden State’s game vs. Utah tonight in Salt Lake City.” This was supposed to be the Warriors’ first game vs the Jazz.

The Warriors had a great start to their season with a 5-1 record, but the chances of making a comeback at this point look bleak. They have won only three of their last eleven games, and are currently at the bottom of the Pacific Division. Their stabilising presence Chris Paul will be out for at least two more weeks following surgery, Klay Thompson has lost his touch, and Andrew Wiggins has been making career-low averages. However, Milojevic’s recent incident has been the worst setback yet, and we can only be hopeful for a positive update from the Warriors.
