“He scrimmaged today and he will practice with us tomorrow. We’re expecting him to play next week sometime.” Steve Kerr’s recent update about Draymond Green was a sign that things were trending in the right direction for the player. The renowned power forward has missed 9 of the last 10 games as he recovers from a left calf strain. With Stephen Curry and co being on a mixed run, a prompt return of the veteran would help to stabilize the tide. Fortunately, the latest update brings good news for the player and the Warriors squad.
According to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, Draymond Green is set to return, after a long break, during the Orlando Magic matchup. This update comes just hours after the player’s status was upgraded from ‘OUT’ to ‘Questionable’ in the aftermath of Steve Kerr’s remarks. The head coach had highlighted that an official decision on whether Green will play against Orlando on Monday will be made soon. Now, it has!

Draymond Green sustained the calf strain during the 1 quarter of the matchup against the Washington Wizards. He exited and had to be replaced by Gary Payton II on the starting lineup. The Warriors went on to win the game against the Wizards. However, the timing of Green’s injury was still not right. After all, Stephen Curry was also on the injury report at that time, listed as ‘Questionable’ because of a left ankle sprain. After undergoing an MRI, it was made clear that the power forward would be sidelined for at least a week.
Except for Draymond Green, the only other player on the Warriors Injury Report is Jonathan Kuminga. The player is set to be re-evaluated only after another week as he recovers from a sprained right ankle.
The Warriors squad has managed to hold their own in Draymond Green’s absence. They won 3 of their last 7 games in which the power forward was absent. Despite this, having the veteran during the Orlando Magic game would increase the Bay Area franchise’s odds. On top of that, the Warriors would want to play as many games as they can with the 34-year-old. After all, if rumors are to be believed, then the squad might undergo some changes in the coming days.
Will Draymond Green be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers too?

If you’re still reeling from the after-effects of the recent Lakers-Mavericks trade, you’re not alone. The fact that the Lakers could work up a deal to give up Luka Doncic, aka the Mavericks’ star player, is astonishing. If anything, it indicated that the Lakers are getting serious about finding the central figures of the post-LeBron James era. If the franchise has already gone so far, then how about a little more? How about, say, acquiring Draymond Green?
‘Blue Man Hoop’ reporter Tyler Watts recently provided his reasoning on why Luka Doncic’s trade also makes Draymond Green’s trade likely. According to Watts, both LeBron James and Luka Doncic are admirers of the Warriors’ power forward. While Doncic is an efficient force, his advantages only lie on the offensive front. LA needs a defensive stopper with Luka as the fresh face of their franchise. Therefore, all these factors pair up in the grand scheme of things.
NBA reporter Peter O’Keefe reportedly suggested that a trade sending Draymond Green, Kyle Anderson, and Buddy Hield could work. How? It would compel the Lakers to part ways with Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, Christian Wood, one 2029 first-round pick, and two 2025 second-round picks.
