The Las Vegas Aces icon went off against Atlanta Dream in their 112-100 away win. This victory was a statement from the team that was subjected to criticism after their loss against the Los Angeles Sparks. A’ja Wilson’s display in the game created history as she let her numbers do the talking.
The 27-year-old dropped 53 points to lead her team to their 29th win of the season. She became only the third-ever WNBA player to score 50 points in a single game. The power forward also tied the record for the league’s all-time record for most points in a single game with Liz Cambage.
Her historic achievement was applauded by LeBron James, but a bit teasingly. As she was wearing LeBron 20 shoes, he tweeted, “Must be the [shoe]”. The 38-year-old then added, “GO THE HELL OFF THEN SIS!!!!!” to encourage her.

Her teammate Sydney Colson also honored her with a caption of “Special” on her Instagram story.
