There are only a few players who have matched the hype around LeBron James in the current era. Zion Williamson also came with a lot of fanfare around him when the Pelicans drafted him four years ago. However, seems like Victor Wembanyama has stolen the limelight from everyone. Wherever he goes, fans flock around him like he is a magnet. Naturally, even legendary NBA players are eager to meet him. 

So, when he met Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who had a similar hype in his own era, it wasn’t that surprising. How did these two (over) seven-foot players look side by side and how did some fans react to it?

League’s Future Victor Wembanyama meets the NBA’s storied player

Mentioning six titles, six MVPS, two Finals MVPs, and 19 All-Star appearances is not enough to capture the greatness of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.  When he arrived in the NBA, he was ready to kiss the skies straightaway. He dominated the game from low-block and through his unguardable sky-hook shots while being a stellar defender and rebounder. He broke the glass ceiling in basketball in many instances.

Victor Wembanyama is also tabbed as someone who can break the glass ceiling in the USA basketball scene. His dribbling skills and body control are unheard of at his size. If Wemby even gets close to Jabbar’s level, he’d have lived up to the expectations. However, the personnel around the Spurs isn’t that great to achieve title success yet. Apart from that, we are yet to see the Center hit the floor against the top-tier players in the league.

In a video by Bleacher Report, we see him meeting the legendary Center.

In this video, he’s towering over the Lakers legend. He greets the Hall-of-Famer with a smile and the two shake hands. Appearing alongside them is a kid, who commenters identified as 2Chainz’s son Halo Epps.

Fans can’t let go of the Spears incident

Ever since Victor Wembanyama’s security backhanded pop idol Britney Spears, fans have been piling on various takes on the issue. The incident has intrigued and also terrified certain people who still can’t wrap their heads around it. Therefore, it wasn’t surprising when some fans brought it up in the comments.
