With the off-season nearing an end, all the NBA teams are looking out for the best possible available options to sign. Amidst that, Giannis Antetokounmpo showcased a desire to sign a former 4x All-Star for the Milwaukee Bucks. Interestingly, his demand surfaced a few days after the nepotism allegations against him.
The 28-year-old faced harsh criticism recently for his actions that sparked a controversy. However, it did not stop the NBA champion from expressing his unique ambition.

What did Giannis Antetokounmpo say?
A recent training clip posted by the Greek Freak captured a memorable moment from a drill. A former Bucks star and current assistant coach, Vinny Baker, turned back the pages as he dunked the ball into the net. It nearly broke the backboard as he hung from the rim for a couple of seconds.
The move surprised everyone present on the basketball court, including Giannis, as he later joked about it. He captioned the video, “Give my guy Vin a 10day,” conveying his wish to re-sign the franchise icon. The two-time MVP hyped the 4-time All-Star up, adding, “Old man still got it”.

This light-hearted moment came on the back of a controversial past few weeks. After Antetokounmpo clarified his demands from the organization publicly, he received huge support all around. However, a recent set of comments changed that. Among others, First Take’s Shannon Sharpe accused Giannis of showing favoritism towards his brothers.
Sharpe’s words hit back at the 7-time All-Star as his long-term future with the team remained uncertain. But the criticism did not stop him from having a good time back on the court. As the entire roster geared up for the upcoming season, a question loomed around the corner.

Will it be the make-or-break season for the Milwaukee Bucks?
The Bucks were finally able to put together a proper team with their best efforts after several years. Their endeavors bore fruit as they won the championship two years back. Since then, the franchise has failed to improve its overall strength of the squad, leaving their talisman frustrated.

Thus, Giannis publicly pressured the management to sign more stars to strengthen the roster. The contract renewal of his teammates, such as Jrue Holiday, would also play a crucial factor in his future with the organization. If the Eastern Conference side fails to live up to the expectations, he may start considering other options.
