In the world of professional sports, it is not uncommon to see words and sentiments being thrown around among the athletes, sometimes leading to ‘beef’ or drama that can drag on for years. Last season, we noticed some falling out between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole, who were then teammates in the Warriors.

Well, it looks like the wound is still fresh and Jordan, who is now playing for the Wizards, has found himself on the receiving end of some remarks. Gilbert Arenas, ex-Wizards star, also talked about how the young players in the league today have a different approach to their careers.

Sitting down with The Ringer NBA Show podcast, Gilbert remarks that the young players in the league today are so fixated on winning the Championship that that’s all they care about. “So now the players are like, ‘You know if I don’t like it here, I just wanna leave,’ right?” According to him, they put so much emphasis on winning that title to seal their legacy that, “They don’t think about the ‘Let me build the stats for the next five years and then, you know, try to figure out how to win.'”

Gilbert pulls out the Wizards’ guard Jordan Poole as an example and recalls the time he said that his legacy was already inked. Hold your horses, Jordan, because Gilbert has to say something to that, “Bruh, you just got into the league.” Gilbert stresses the fact that these young players today should mainly focus on building good stats and a solid career and that the Championship can come later. “These kids wanna win now because that’s where the legacy lies,” he says.
