Giannis Antetokounmpo recently received the prestigious Bob Lanier Community Assist Award. It comes in recognition of his outstanding contributions during the Season of Giving. The award recognizes NBA players and teams for their philanthropic endeavors spanning five weeks from mid-November to December, dedicated to supporting and uplifting communities. The award ceremony was set before the Milwaukee Bucks clashed with the New Orleans Pelicans to honor Antetokounmpo with a David Robinson plaque. Moreover, it was accompanied by a generous $10,000 donation to the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation.

In a post-game interview, Giannis shared his delight at winning the award for the first time, emphasizing its significance. “It means more than the other ones,” he exclaimed. Expressing gratitude to everyone who played a role in his commendable efforts, including the Milwaukee community, he reiterated the uniqueness of this award. Adding a personal touch, Giannis revealed, “I’ve won a lot of awards, but this is the only award that my mom text me… ‘good job son’.”

Last month, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his family tipped the holiday season with their third annual Christmas extravaganza for 300 Milwaukee foster families. The spirited night featured engaging activities, balloon art, dance parties, face painting, etc. Additionally, children had the chance to meet Santa and Bango, the Milwaukee Bucks mascot. Families were also provided with wrapped gifts to carry home.

Earlier this season, Antetokounmpo and his family served a festive dinner to 86 residents at Guest House Milwaukee. Furthermore, they also provided new blankets and socks—essentials for the chilly Wisconsin weather. In October, Giannis orchestrated The Big Give Back, raising over $180,000 and donating 10,000 diapers to the Milwaukee Diaper Mission.
