The Milwaukee Bucks pulled off a miraculous win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. Damian Lillard led the charge for the Bucks as his co-star Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the last game due to left Achilles tendinitis. After a dominant win at home, the Bucks are ready to start their 4-game road trip tonight by facing the Golden State Warriors. Fortunately for the Bucks fans, their team received a massive positive update regarding Giannis’ return from injury.

According to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, The Bucks are optimistic about The Greek Freak playing in tonight’s game against Stephen Curry and Co. That means Giannis could return after a one-game hiatus and help lead the Bucks to victory. That is a massive update for the Bucks, as Giannis has been their best player throughout the season. Giannis is having an MVP-caliber season, averaging 30.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.

Antetokounmpo’s return to the lineup will help the Bucks both defensively and offensively. In the last game, Doc Rivers had to switch to zone defense to make up for Giannis’ absence. Rivers’ decision proved extremely effective as Milwaukee extended their post-All-Star break winning streak to 6 games. With Giannis back in the lineup, Rivers can return to playing man-to-man and make adjustments according to the Warriors’ offense. The Bucks are currently 2nd in the Eastern Conference standings with a 41-21 record. And Giannis’ return will help them continue their dominant form during this 4-game road trip.

Can Damian Lillard shine again alongside Giannis?

After Giannis got ruled out of the last game due to his injury, many fans ruled out the Bucks to win the game. However, Damian Lillard took over the game and led the Bucks to victory with his dominant 41-point performance. And Lillard was not the only Bucks player on fire that night. Bobby Portis Jr. emerged as the unlikely hero in Giannis’ absence and went off for 28 points and 16 rebounds. Lillard and Portis’ scoring outburst did not let the Bucks suffer the consequences of Giannis’ unavailability. Lillard showed in Monday’s game that he can still take over a game whenever needed.

Even though Giannis might return to action tonight, the Bucks will need a similar performance from Lillard to overcome the in-form Warriors. Stephen Curry and Co. are coming off a humiliating loss in Boston and will be seeking vengeance tonight. They have played great recently, apart from the last game, going 5-2 since the All-Star break. Therefore, Milwaukee will need all the help they can get to beat the Warriors tonight. How do you think Giannis’ return will affect the outcome of tonight’s game?
