It’s something that Pacers fans have done since Game 1 of this series. Giannis Antetokounmpo must be sick of hearing it now. But fans and sometimes even players tend to poke fun at ‘The Greek Freak’ whenever he steps to the free-throw line and lines up a shot. And the Bucks’ Game 2 vs the Pacers was no exception, but one fan managed to outdo the rest tonight.

You see, in the first quarter tonight, Giannis was lining up a free throw. He did his usual slow free routine as the crowd did its thing. They counted up from 1 to 10 after the referee handed Giannis the ball. Albeit, their counting was much quicker than your typical shot clock.

However, one fan donning an Indiana hat brought in a special, manual, free-throw clock as a visual aid that said “Greek Time” to mock Giannis as he made his free-throw attempt. The man started to count up dramatically, moving the “clock’s” hand from 1 to 10. And for some reason, it seemed to work in the forward’s favor as the shot went in!

Giannis spoke on this back in 2021, “Of course, 20,000 people yelling, ‘one, two, three, four,’ you notice that. I think it’s something that’s going to follow me for the rest of my career. So, I’ve just got to embrace it and have fun with it,” he told USA Today. That was the year he and the Bucks won a chip, so maybe it’s not the best idea to poke the ‘Greek Freak’.

But it’s not just the fans who tend to play into this counting bit. The Cavs’ Max Strus took part in it as well last year during a Cavs-Bucks game. Although considering Giannis’ outlook on the whole thing, perhaps it’s not the best idea to get Antetokounmpo fired up. But the fans; they’re a different story altogether since there’s really no stopping them as we saw tonight.

Needless to say, Twitter is going insane after all this. So, here are some of the best reactions we found online to the fans at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse mocking Giannis Antetokounmpo tonight.

What’s your perspective on:

Did the Pacers fan's clock actually help Giannis sink that free throw, or was it pure luck?

Twitter has a field day after Pacers fan brings in his own free-throw clock to troll Giannis Antetokounmpo

It goes without saying that Pacers fans online really enjoyed the man’s antics. “So proud to be a Pacers fan, man 😂👏,” wrote an X user appreciating his fellow fan. “Top tier sign,” wrote another. And it’s hard to deny that this was an ingenious bit of trolling from the Indiana supporter. We’ve seen some hilarious signs from the crowd in NBA games over the years. And this man’s “Greek Time” clock has got to be up there. If only there were a Hall of Fame for crowd signs!

However, a lot of people, Milwaukee fans especially, were a little shocked that this bit was still going on even in 2025. “lol do Pacers fans realize that fans did this 4 years ago? Wow they must not have internet in Indiana haha,” wrote a fan of the Bucks. But even Giannis himself knows that this is probably not going to stop for as long as he’s playing in the NBA. After all, everyone loves a bit of trolling. And NBA fans, well, they’re the masters of it.

But what a lot of fans online realized is that these fans mocking Giannis somehow always seem to end with him making the free throws. “Looks like it works for him,” wrote a member of the community, calm and succinct.

Another had a more, let’s say, verbose way of airing out their thoughts. “And he nails one, and he still nails one, are you kidding me?! Trolling is never gonna work on Giannis, never!,” they asserted. Their points are hard to deny, though. Even when Strus trolled Giannis by counting the seconds on his fingers, the ‘Greek Freak’ made both of the free throws he earned.

So, while rival fans may enjoy mocking Giannis Antetokounmpo, two things have become clear. One, it doesn’t really get to him. Two, their mockery of his free-throw routine may actually be helping him lock in. And a ‘Greek Freak’ that’s locked in and riled up is a problem for everybody!

So, Indiana fans, we’d advise against trolling Giannis Antetokounmpo.
