The Milwaukee Bucks are on a 5-game winning streak. And it looks like Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo have finally figured out how to play together. They have played great as a duo in recent games, with both putting up monstrous performances. Dame and Giannis combined for 67 points against the Dallas Mavericks and 64 points against Jordan Poole and Co.

Even though Dame and Giannis are starting to show signs of good chemistry, Wizards legend Gilbert Arenas believes the other 3 players in the Bucks starting lineup are yet to figure things out.

Gilbert Arenas addressed the Milwaukee Bucks? recent success during the Gil?s Arena Podcast. Milwaukee is ranked 3rd in the Eastern Conference with a 10-4 record. The Wizards legend believes Lillard and Giannis have figured out how to play together as teammates, but there is still a problem in their line-up. ?The other 3 are still trying to figure out how they can play,? Arenas said about the chemistry in the Bucks starting lineup. Milwaukee has put Khris Middleton, Malik Beasley, and Brook Lopez on the floor to start the game alongside Lillard and Giannis.

Khris Middleton is playing on a minute restriction, averaging only 19.7 minutes per game as he dealing with a lingering injury. He is averaging only 12 points and 4.1 rebounds, which is his lowest scoring average since his rookie season. Injuries have taken a toll on Middleton?s body and that has led to the decline in his performance. Brook Lopez?s performance has also taken a hit since Dame arrived in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee?s defense is a big problem

The Milwaukee Bucks lost their defensive anchor Jrue Holiday this summer. He got traded in the Damian Lillard deal, and Milwaukee?s defense has taken a major hit after his departure. The Bucks rank 24th in the league in defense. That is a big problem for them, considering no team from 2013 to 2022 ranked lower than 11th in defense was able to win a Championship. Denver broke that norm and won the title last season, ranked 15th in defense.

But 24th rank means Milwaukee is one of the worst defensive teams in the league. And that performance might cost them in the playoffs. Offense slows down drastically during the playoffs as teams get more time to scout their opponents during a 7-game series, and Milwaukee?s bad defense can close all gates for them. Milwaukee will have to address this issue if they want to win a Championship this season.
