Not many people possess the qualities of a prodigy on the court, but that has not been the case for GG Jackson II. While playing for college, GG made it to the NBA within a year of his college basketball career. Being called 2023’s best NBA draft pick for the Memphis Grizzlies, Coach Paris had a bunch of praise for the young basketball star; “When (NBA teams) asked me, I talked about who he is as a person, and he’s a superstar as a person, to be honest. I always tell them, if you draft him, and the basketball works out the way I think it’ll work out, you’ll have a superstar on your hands.” But do these praises reflect on his salary? We will know.
Before that, let us delve more into his interests. Did you know that GG Jackson boasts musical talents beyond the court and has a reputation for playing good drums and singing? He is good with his teammates, and he is humble enough to apologize when needed. “He’s a great guy. His teammates like him. He’s super talented as a person. He plays drums. He sings.” Paris told the State newspaper in Colombia. But let us now know about the ideal grizzly draft and how much is GG Jackson making in the NBA?

What is GG Jackson’s contract worth? What is his salary?
GG Jackson II’s rise in the NBA has been nothing short of electrifying—and the Memphis Grizzlies are all in on his potential. On February 9, 2024, the then 19-year-old phenom inked a four-year deal worth approximately $8.5 million, with a healthy $6.1 million guaranteed. It’s a contract that not only rewards his breakout performances but also signals the Grizzlies’ belief that they might have a future star in their ranks.
So, how much does he make in a year? For the 2023–24 season, Jackson has earned just under $2 million (Base salary of $1,991,428 to be exact), and his salary for the next two seasons will be: $1,891,857 in 2024–25 and $2,221,677 in 2025–26. The final year of the deal, worth $2.4 million, is a team option, giving Memphis flexibility, but also a clear path to keep him around if he continues trending upward.
Given his flashes of brilliance and sky-high ceiling, the Grizzlies may have gotten a steal. For now, GG Jackson is proving he’s more than just a promising pick—he’s a potential franchise cornerstone in the making. The 20-year-old is making steady figures, but he did not get to the top for nothing. But was it easy?
During his freshman year, questions were asked about his maturity and readiness for the professional NBA. But right after he became a Grizzly, he came forward talking about his transformation from a high school prodigy to the youngest draft pick of the season. He said, “I want people to know that wasn’t me. That’s big-headed GG. I’m little-headed GG now.” Strong-headed with a goal in mind, and the reason why even before he entered the NBA, GG had already started building his brand.
What are GG Jackson’s endorsements?
Despite a small college year, GG decided to take advantage of the NCAA’s NIL policies. In early February 2023, he signed with Champs Sports, one of the biggest names in athletic retail, signaling his growing influence as a college basketball figure with national appeal.

Just weeks later, Jackson took another big step by landing a deal with Under Armour—a brand with deep ties to South Carolina and a track record of aligning with elite NBA talent. The partnership placed him in esteemed company, echoing the path of Stephen Curry, who signed with Under Armour in 2013 and later launched the “Curry Brand.” For Jackson, it wasn’t just about the gear—it was a move that underscored his professional aspirations and business mindset, setting the stage for a career that’s just as strategic as it is explosive.

What is GG Jackson looking forward to? What does he mean for the Grizzlies?
GG is the youngest player in NBA history to make seven three-pointers in a game. And the youngest to achieve a 40-point, 10-rebound game. He joins NBA legends LeBron James and Kevin Durant as one of the youngest players to score 20 points in back-to-back games.
Standing at 6’9″, GG is tough to match up against. He gives the Grizzlies a next-generation perspective while veterans like Desmond Bane and Karen Jackson form the core. He is ready to hustle, rebound, and defend multiple positions, which makes him an energetic centerpiece for the Memphis Grizzlies.
When Ja Morant was sidelined due to injuries, GG stepped up in the 2024-25 season. In 25 games, the 19-year-old had a high field goal percentage. In a post-game interview following a game against the San Antonio Spurs, Jackson expressed his determination to contribute to the team, stating, “I’m just trying to help the team win in any way I can.” Looking forward, the 20-year-old has a bright future ahead. It is to see whether GG continues to break records and places himself amongst the legends in the future.
