After 16 years of wait, the Boston Celtics have finally confirmed their  18th championship banner. The Celtics now have the most titles in the league and their celebration will be grand as they look forward to the championship parade. When the Celtics lost in Game 4, it seemed as if they just wanted to lift the trophy at home rather than miles away in the south. Regardless, Boston fans cannot wait to see the champs ride around the city this Friday.

This summer, heat waves around the world have everyone on alert. With 2024 listed as one of the hottest years on record, citizens of metropolitan cities are advised to take precautions. Recently, Michelle Wu, Mayor of Boston has advised the spectators who are planning to join in the championship parade to take the necessary measures. “Remember to look out for one another, take care of each other, and make sure everyone is safe. If someone doesn’t seem okay, get help right away.”, said Chief of Emergency Medical Services, James Hooley.

The current temperature difference in the Boston area ranges from 75 to 95 degrees. However, the weather forecasts project Friday much cooler with mixed clouds and even rain chances. The parade is scheduled to kick off at 11 in the morning and will continue till early afternoon. City streets will be shut down from 9 a.m. to clear the parade route.

However, if it does rain during the day, it will ruin the iconic parade. Last year in Denver, there were concerns about a possible thunderstorm when the Nuggets were preparing for their championship parade. The Boston Celtics face a similar situation but with a 50% chance of rain on Friday, fans should be prepared for either light rain or yet another heat wave.
