Is Giannis justified in snapping at reporters, or should he keep his cool under pressure?

Locker rooms have more drama than the on-court action in today’s NBA! A few days back, the Sixers center Joel Embiid found himself in a controversy after a scuffle with a columnist in the locker room. Notably, many players have spoken about the locker room privacy concerns, including Draymond Green. While the heat of the affair is yet to come down, we already have another locker-room drama with Giannis Antetokounmpo!

After the frustrating loss against the NY Knicks, the reporters swarmed Antetokounmpo in the locker room, firing away the questions. The big man, in return, patiently responded to everyone, like he always does. However, the superstar lost his cool for a moment, as he reacted to a reporter’s act. There is no clarity on the reporter’s act, but this is what the Greek Freak had to say to him. “Hey man, if you don’t want to be here, you can leave… I’m being honest with you,” said Giannis mid-way through his statement.

It’s always important to read the room. The Bucks have had a disappointing run so far with a 7-2 record and Giannis Antetokounmpo has all the right to be in the bad mood. Tonight, Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks to dominate throughout the game and produced a blowout 116-94 win. While speaking about the team’s inability to create space on the floor, the superstar stopped his sentence midway and asked a reporter to leave.

This instance immediately reminded us of Joel Embiid‘s locker room physical altercation that forced the league to slap a three-game suspension on the big man. The Cameroonian shoved Marcus Hayes, a columnist, in the locker room for involving his son and late brother in an article that criticized his fitness and NBA legacy. Days after this incident, many conversations have popped up surrounding locker privacy, and boom, we have another close call!

Draymond Green, one of the top podcasters among the active players, never misses an opportunity to have a say on a trending affair. And, the Joel Embiid controversy took over the NBA world for at least a week. Green hosted the Houston Rockets star guard Fred VanVleet in his latest episode and the duo discussed the lack of privacy in the NBA locker room.

“An NBA locker room is the most non-private place in the building. Like, there’s no privacy. You’re getting dressed. There’s people in the locker room,” said Green to start off the proceedings. On the other hand, VanVleet doubled it down with a stern take, criticizing a few reporters for taking advantage of younger ballers who lack media training.
