Is LeBron's 'Crown Me' gesture a sign of confidence or arrogance? How do you see it?

“Can someone please explain to me why we’re getting on a (plane emoji) and heading to Milwaukee for 1 pre-season game!?!?” Well, LeBron James was not pleased ahead of his first road game of the ongoing preseason because of the lengthy travel to the East Coast. But it might have been worth the trouble as the Lakers got their first win of the campaign. With that in the bag, LBJ is back where he belongs and is already enjoying his time in the City of Angels with his wife Savannah.

The atmosphere at Dodger Stadium was electric as the Dodgers hosted the Padres for Game 5 of their tied series. Among the sea of fans, LeBron James could be spotted sitting next to his wife, enjoying the game. As expected, the couple grabbed everyone’s attention and was shown on the stadium’s big screen. LBJ soaked in all the love from fans by raising his hands and hitting his iconic ‘Crown Me’ gesture. Meanwhile, Savannah, with no signature celebration of her own, made the peace sign with her fingers.

Surely, it should not come as a surprise that LeBron showed up at the Dodgers game to support the home team because he has been pretty vocal about his fandom for their star player, Shohei Ohtani. When Ohtani went 6-for-6 last month and hit three home runs in a single game to clinch his historic 50-50 chase, LBJ was left awestruck at his talent and tweeted, “THIS GUY IS UNREAL!!!! WOWZERS.” So, one of the first things he did after returning from his 2050-mile trip from Milwaukee was watch Ohtani play live.

Moreover, James did not go home disappointed as the Dodgers won tonight’s game 2-0 and clinched the series. And he even congratulated Ohtani’s squad after the big win, “Congrats @Dodgers on Advancing to NLCS!!!!” Their next opponents? The New York Mets on Sunday. Meanwhile, LBJ also showed support to his hometown team of Cleveland Guardians who will play their series decider against the Tigers tomorrow, “@CleGuardians Best of luck tomorrow!!! O-H”

Have an interesting take?

As tiring as the trip was to Milwaukee, the Lakers at least got their first preseason win out of it. Moreover, it was also their first win of JJ Redick’s tenure as head coach, which will surely be a huge confidence booster for the entire team. But they are still seeking their first home win. Unfortunately, due to renovations at the Crypto.com arena, none of the Lakers’ games are scheduled in LA for the pre-season.

Yes, their first two encounters were technically home games, but they were played at Palm Springs’ Acrisure Arena. As expected, LBJ’s current stay in LA will not last long as the Lakers’ upcoming game against the Warriors will be taking place in Las Vegas. So, James and his squad will be back on a flight very soon. And even their final two preseason games are on the road. However, the Lakers will finally play their first home game on October 22 against the Wolves, which will also be their first regular season game. But for now, LeBron’s travel continues.
