Freddie Freeman steals the LA Lakers‘ thunder with his ultimate heroism. The Los Angeles Dodgers took on the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the NY Yankees. After trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the tenth, Freeman helped the Dodgers produce a comeback. While the Dodger Stadium already exploded with the 35-year-old star’s stylish walk-off, the infectious hype took over the Crypto.com Arena amid the Lakers’ intense chase down against the Phoenix Suns.

The Dodgers sealed a 6-3 win in Game 1 after Freeman launched two back-to-back outs of Yankees’ Nestor Cortes. Immediately after the second blow, the Canadian baseman instantly knew it was game, and he carried a heroic walk-off. Crypto.com arena did its duty to keep its fans informed, as they aired the moment on the big screen amid the Lakers’ second game of the season. In response, the fans went “Nuts”, as per Dave McMenamin.

It’s a surprising sight to witness the crowd that assembled to witness LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Devin Booker, blow up in the arena for a different sport. It’s indeed a welcome to the LA sports fandom moment. Notably, It’s not like the Lakers’ second game of the season was a boring affair. In fact, it added another feather to coach JJ Redick, as he orchestrated a brave revival in the second half.

The Suns’ super trio took charge early in the game, driving the game with a 20-point lead in the first half. However, AD and Austin Reaves alongside LeBron James flipped the game around and produced a 123-116 win. Davis became the first Lakers to score 30+ points in the first two games of the season. And Redick became the first Lakers coach since Phil Jackson to win the two games of the fresh season.
