Last month, the PG GOAT debate fueled many emotions. The debate centered on Magic Johnson and Stephen Curry. The debate was triggered when Steph declared himself as the best Point Guard to play the game. Apparently, the analyst backed Curry and felt that he was indeed the GOAT PG.
But then he claimed that Michael Jordan refuted what he said, and sent him a personal text message. A part of the lengthy message, as per SAS, stated, “Magic Johnson is easily the best point guard of all-time. Steph Curry is very close but not in front of Magic”.
However, many fans thought the NBA critique was lying and didn’t believe that MJ texted him at all. Now, his credibility is in question again because LeBron James’ agent and long-time friend Rich Paul is refuting one of his other claims.
For the ESPN commentator, MJ is the GOAT, while for Paul, LBJ is the GOAT. During an appearance on the Podcast P with Paul George, Stephen A. Smith made the following comments: “I got him ahead of Kareem. I got him behind no one but Jordan. And I said you act like that’s an insult. This dude (Rich Paul), ‘It is an insult’ I said, ‘Get the f–k out of my face”. According to Paul himself, this story can be fabricated.
Stephen A. Smith is in the hot seat
As Paul appeared on Gilbert Arenas’ show “Gil’s Arena”, the crew played the audio clip of the above claim by the ESPN loyalist. As the audio clip played, Paul immediately said, “Cap”. The show’s host Josiah Jackson asked if the controversial analyst really used the phrase, ”get the f–k out of my face”. The agent replied, “Come on man, anybody in the world knows he not gonna say that to me”.
