Fast forward to 2023, former Rockets star Kenyon Martin Jr. finds himself sharing the locker room with Paul George. Kenyon Martin and his son Kenyon Martin Jr. made the revelations in the recent episode of Podcast P with Paul George.

During the conversation, Martin pointed out, “Dame scored 71 against them [Martin Jr.]“.?This ultimately made the 22-year-old star share his experience of the horrendous night. “I was sick to my stomach.”

Then the host brought Lillard’s 37 Ft buzzer-beater against PG. In order to stress the impact of Dame’s performance against the Rockets, Martin Jr. said, “That’s different, though!” And then he further asked PG, “How much did he have that game?

George replied, “He probably had like 30-something in that game.”

Martin Jr. then went further to explain why Dame’s 71 against his side was more heartbreaking. He said, “That’s different, he had 40 at halftime against us. He could’ve scored 90 if he wanted to, I truly believe, if we didn’t double-team him, he would have 90.

Lillard is in a league of his own

The two teammates rightly reflect on Dame’s jaw-dropping performance from the 2019 playoff series and this year’s regular season game against the Rockets. Both?bonded upon the impact these two separate memories have on each of them. In the interview, PG also said, “It’s crazy how some people can get in that zone, though.

He then asked, “Do you think that’s more him, just being locked in and special talent, or is that just a byproduct of the NBA? Kenyon Martin had only one word in response to this. He said, “Both.”
