Team USA bagged their first victory in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, defeating New Zealand in their opening match. Perkins said about Anthony Edwards. With Edwards? quick rise to superstardom, many believe that he is going to be the new face of the league.

The 22-year-old made his first All-Star team last season, averaging 24.6 points and 5.8 rebounds. The Timberwolves lost in the first round to the eventual champions, Denver Nuggets. However, Ant showed signs of greatness, averaging 31.6 points in the series. Minnesota realized Edwards? potential and signed him to a 5-year $260 million Supermax extension, making him the pillar of their organization.
