LeBron James has won 4 NBA Championships in his illustrious career. But his most recent title is highly discredited by many. King James led the Los Angeles Lakers to their 17th Championship in 2020, more popularly known as the “Bubble Championship”. The 2020 season was an unprecedented situation because of the pandemic. Many fans do not consider LeBron’s 4th ring a real title because the whole playoffs were conducted in a Bubble without any fans in the arena.
LeBron’s childhood friend and agent, Rich Paul, defended his “Bubble Championship” and took a dig at Warriors guard Stephen Curry in the process. However, 44 days after dragging Steph into the conversation, Rich Paul comes clean about his choice of words.

Rich Paul was a guest on Gil’s Arena last month. Paul tried to explain how his client LeBron James is treated differently by the fans and the media. He brought up the example of LeBron’s “Bubble Ring”, and the criticism it has amassed since being won by the King. Paul dragged 4-time Champion Stephen Curry into the conversation to defend his friend LeBron, “If Steph wins in the Bubble, do they discredit it? No, they don’t”. The multi-millionaire agent got a lot of heat for taking a dig at The Baby-Faced Assassin.
44 days after the controversial statement, Rich Paul appeared on The Old Man & The Three Podcast hosted by JJ Redick. Paul came clean about why he brought up Stephen Curry’s name to defend LeBron, “I wasn’t trying to slight Steph, that wasn’t my thing. I had nobody else to compare to.” Rich claims that he compared LeBron with Steph because they are the only two superstars with the power to do what they want because of their impact on the game. Rich revealed he cleared the air with Steph after his comment got blown out of proportion.
