Globally, the NBA has become one of the most popular American sports leagues. The league has to constantly evolve and reinvent itself to enhance its appeal and engage new fans. Franchises take pride in offering top-notch amenities for fans attending games in their arenas. To engage more fans and create an atmosphere before the game, franchises hire DJs and this completely transforms the atmosphere of the arena. However, certain older heads do not like this culture. Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr has publicly called out the “South Beach Club” culture. Nevertheless, the Suns’ DJ turned Kerr’s rant into a banging track which left a former Warrior in splits.

Suns’ DJ creates a banger with help from Steve Kerr

Steve Kerr has gained a reputation as a master tactician for leading the Golden State Warriors to four NBA titles. Under his leadership, the Warriors have become synonymous with winning and success. He is known for his old-school approach to coaching, and he doesn’t appreciate the rising trend of turning arenas into clubs. Following the Warriors’ match-up against the Suns, Kerr embarked on a tirade. He said, “In this building, you can’t hear anything because it’s like a club. It’s like a South Beach club out there. What are we doing? I’m being dead serious. I couldn’t hear anything out there.”

Despite Kerr’s rant, Suns’ DJ, Chris Villa, turned his words into a banging mix. This cracker of a mix left former Warrior Andrew Bogut in splits. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his feelings. He wrote, “Ok ok this is hilarious.”

While Kerr might not like the growing trend of converting arenas into clubs, this culture is here to stay. Older heads like Kerr must get used to this culture. However, music would be the least of Kerr’s problems, as his Warriors’ side has significantly underperformed this season.

Why have the Warriors underperformed?

The Warriors started the 2023-24, looking like their usual selves. Stephen Curry still performed at an elite level, despite being 35 years old. But the cracks began to appear once Curry missed a few games. Other than Curry, most of the Warriors roster have underperformed. Their new recruit, Chris Paul, also hasn’t had the desired effect on the team.

However, the form of Bay Area stalwarts, Klay and Draymond, has been the biggest concern for the Dubs. Statistically, Klay has endured his worst start to an NBA season. He has averaged 15.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 21 games this season. Kerr needs to find a solution to get the Dubs out of their current slump. Otherwise, we might witness the end of the Warriors dynasty very soon.
