The fans and pundits often compare Draymond Green and Dennis Rodman for their gameplay on the court. Arguably, these two forwards are the best defenders in the NBA world. While the comparisons revolved around stats and figures, now it has taken a new turn. Following the addition of a veteran point guard to the Golden State Warriors, a former NBA star drew a striking parallel by invoking the iconic 1995 Chicago Bulls trade.
The Bulls entirely dominated the 90s era of the NBA. The team filled with superstars like Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen took the league to the global audience. Dennis The Worm Rodman played a huge role in the team’s second three-peat. Notably, he came into the side with a past Bulls rivalry up in his baggage.

Before joining the Bulls, Dennis Rodman had played six seasons with the Detroit Pistons, the archrivals of the Bulls. Subsequently, there was a lot of noise surrounding the Rodman trade to the Chicago side in 1995.
Eventually, the Worm shut off the noise with his performance and helped the side win three championships in a row. Decades after the trade, former NBA star, Gilbert Arenas, drew parallel to the iconic trade with the Warriors’ 2023 trade.
In the 2023 offseason, the Dubs shocked the NBA world when they traded out Jordan Poole for the veteran point guard, Chris Paul. The 38-year-old, who has 2 years left in his 4-year contract worth $120 million, would join Draymond Green in the upcoming season. Notably, the duo doesn’t have a great relationship off the court. In a 2020 podcast, Green publicly said, “I don’t like [Chris Paul] at all. Like we don’t have a good relationship at all, but I respect his hustle.”
Amid all this chaos, Arenas in his podcast, the Gil’s Arena, said, “That’s like Dennis Rodman going to the Bulls. He was part of the bad boys.” The former all-star brought up the comparison when the panel discussed about Paul’s entry into side amid his beef with Green.
At the end of the day, the biggest question is, will the duo be able to play together despite their past beef?
