For the past 20 years and counting, LeBron James has dominated the league one way or the other. James has won several titles, broken numerous records, and is even credited with making new stat lines that would go down in the history books. Yet, there are many out there that do not like to give credit where it is due.

Going into year 21 of his NBA career, James is still going strong and is ranked at the ninth spot on ESPN’s top 10. But according to this former NBA star, James should be more than happy that he made the top 10 in the league.

LeBron James is often one of the first names that pops up in the GOAT conversation. And that debate has been going on for ages. But does The King make it into the top 10 being 38 years of age?

Well, according to ESPN’s Top 10, LeBron James comes at the ninth spot on that list. And that too is commendable given his age and the numbers he produced last year. James averaged 28.9 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 6.8 APG last season.

Not the numbers one would expect from a 38-year-old. But according to Gilbert Arenas, James should be more than happy that he made it to the top 10 in ESPN’s ranking of players in the upcoming season.

In one of the recent episodes of Gil’s Arena, the host asked the guests if James deserves to be on the ninth spot on the list. And to that, everyone could not help but agree, including Gilbert Arenas as well.

But one thing Arenas went on to add was, “I guarantee you, he’s the only person on the list that be like, ‘For my age, I shouldn’t even be in the top 50. The fact that we in the top 10, we good.’”

Where should LeBron James be ranked?

Given the numbers he produced and the way he led his team to the Western Conference Finals last season, there should be no argument that LeBron James should be in the top 10. But the players ahead of him, taking a spot may raise an eyebrow or two.

Players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic, who missed out on the playoffs, are ahead of James. Moreover, there are players who did not make it as far in the playoffs as LBJ ahead of him on the list.
