Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been making waves in the NBA landscape as of late. The Oklahoma City Thunder‘s 25-year-old point guard is third in the league in terms of points scored (31.3 on average) and leads the league in steals (2.2 per game). Surpassing Steph Curry, SGA recently secured a spot at the 2024 NBA All-Star Game as a starter for the Western Conference.
Snowballing his rise as a superstar, not only is he making an impact on the court, but Shai’s influence has also reached out into the world of fashion. Bringing the All-Star into the spotlight again, he was named the Global Brand Ambassador for Canada-based extreme weather outwear company, Canada Goose.
The Canadian athlete recently took to Instagram to share the exciting news. Along with an image of him garbed in the brand’s attire, SGA shared it with the caption, “Excited to announce I’m the new Global Brand Ambassador for @canadagoose.” The $1.22 billion company and the NBA announced a multi-year partnership, which includes a collaboration with Brooklyn-based footwear and apparel label KidSuper.

Shai is the face of the global campaign for Canada Goose and the NBA with KidSuper. This is not SGA’s first rodeo with fashion. In fact, he was named GQ’s Most Stylish Man of the Year in 2022. He has carved out a name for himself in the fashion industry thanks to his incredible style. So, it came as no surprise when Kim Kardashian reached out to the NBA’s most stylish player for a collaboration with her $4 billion company.

The news was announced last year in October that Shai had signed with Kim Kardashian’s clothing brand SKIMS, as a representative of the Men’s clothing line. SGA becomes one of the first athletes for the brand’s underwear line, along with well-known soccer player Neymar Jr. and NFL star Nick Bosa.
In a shocking turn of events, Kim’s SKIMS for Men campaign featuring Shai, Neymar, and Bosa generated over 25,000 orders in the first five minutes alone. It was the biggest sales day for the brand since its debut. This only magnifies the influence that athletes like Shai have on the world of fashion. Following this success, SKIMS officially signed with the NBA as an underwear partner.
