The NBA loves a debate as it adds more spark to the entire ecosystem for its insolvable nature. Thus, when a comment from Stephen Curry started one, the fans dragged Magic Johnson’s name into it. The situation heated up when Michael Jordan participated in it actively, giving the argument a new direction.

Why did Michael Jordan get called out?
After Curry declared himself the greatest of all-time point guard, many people voiced support for Magic. The Chicago Bulls legend was one of them as he sent a text to Stephen A. Smith to put the former Los Angeles Lakers star ahead. Joe Budden, an American artist, hated the 60-year-old’s approach as he expressed his bitterness.
In a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, the host said, “Man, mute up Jordan. The f**k out of here”. He continued criticizing Jordan and the other superstars of previous generations as he said, “I’m sick of him. I’m sick of the OGs”. Joe then mentioned how the 6-time NBA champion’s actions contradicted his own words.

“Why is you texting Stephen A. at 5.30 in the morning?” the rapper stated before raising his point. “The fact that you did that as Michael Jordan lends credence to the argument of where Steph is,” he highlighted, to point out the irony. The entire event brought out the 43-year-old artist’s underlying distaste for Michael as he pushed him aside.

As the argument gained momentum on the show, the rapper gave his flowers to Johnson too. “He basically saved the NBA,” Budden said before adding, “So, that stat alone, you got it, big dog”. So, eventually, Joe also aligned himself with Jordan’s opinion, just in a different manner. This brings us to our next point of discussion.
