LeBron James has already stepped into the twilight years of his NBA career. He now focuses on his oldest son, Bronny James. James Jr is following in his father’s footsteps and is targeting to join the big league. The 19-year-old is currently enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC) and plays for the college team.

The dynamic world of collegiate athletics and the new age of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities for student-athletes have opened a lot of doors for these youngsters who can now have the ability to earn through endorsements. In spite of the excitement around a recent Beats commercial with the James family, Bronny has struggled to reach his full NIL earnings potential, which has resulted in a drop in his total NIL profits.

Bronny James has a $5.9 million NIL deal, making it the highest-valued NIL deal among collegiate players. Bronny earns as much as $5,9 million through his NIL deals with enormous companies like Beats By Dre, Nike, and PSD Underwear. Despite generating such an amount at a young age, Bronny’s NIL has seen a drastic decline over the past few weeks.

Bronny was valued at an estimated $6.1 million by ON3 NIL in August of this year. His value has seen a dip to $5.8 million since the last week of September. As of now, his value still stands at $5.8 million. If you think about it, it is hard to make sense of that because just last week, the Bron family was seen in a Beats By Dre advert. This should’ve boosted Bronny’s name in the market and increased his NIL value, but the opposite has happened.

Savannah’s message for LeBron

The ad features LeBron James and his wife Savannah, and their children Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri. Along with the James family, Manchester City FC’s soccer sensation Erling Haaland and his father are also featured. In the ad, LeBron is listening to a voice message that Savannah sent him, similar to Halland, who is listening to his father’s message.

However, the one line that stands out is Savannah telling James, “Tell them you’re not done until you play with your son“.

LeBron has also hinted in the past that his last time on the court will coincide with Bronny stepping into the big league for the first time. Fans share the same sentiment of seeing father and son playing in the same league. This ad, therefore, should have shot Bronny into the limelight once again, but it hasn’t been translated to his NIL value.

Nonetheless, Bronny will be eligible to play in the NBA by the 2024-25 season and let’s hope LeBron hasn’t retired by then.
