Ever since the 2023 NBA playoffs, Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler is never off fans’ radar. The 34-year-old stepped on the gas in the 2023 postseason and managed to take his 8th seeded team to the Finals. Even though he couldn’t win the ring, he impressed the NBA world with his playoff mentality. Apart from that, the star’s rumored relationship with pop-star Shakira kept him on the newspaper regularly. Now that the league is around the corner, Butler spices up things as he instantly dismissed a comparison with Jayson Tatum in a recent interview.
Just like Butler, Boston Celtics star Tatum almost lost his chance at the championship three years in a row. Importantly, the Heat dismantled the hopes of Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals with a 4-3 win. JT & Co almost came back from a 3-1 deficit and forced game 7 but couldn’t pull off a LeBron James magic on them. To further rub salt on the Celtics fans’ wound, Jimmy G. Buckets pulled off a slander.

Considering Jimmy Butler‘s playoff record, he had been constantly compared to the Chicago Bulls legend, Michael Jordan. On a funnier side, fans even referred to him as the secret son of MJ when his bald pictured went viral. Meanwhile, in a recent interview with the Sports Illustrated, Butler reacted to a comparison question with a fierce response.
The host asked him, “Everyone talking about LeBron versus MJ, Steph versus Magic, You versus Tatum… Is there value in having those conversation?” Without a second thought Butler hit back the host: “First of all, I don’t hear nobody talk about me versus Tatum. You completely just made that up.”
Following that he gave his response to the comparison conversation, and he stood completely against it. He added, “I don’t compare anything to anything, anybody to anybody. I just appreciate every single individual.”
While Butler expressed his view on comparing players, JT has geared up with a strong roster for the upcoming season.
