As Caitlin Clark continues to dazzle fans with her incredible performances during March Madness, it appears that the NCAA’s All-Time Leading Scorer could soon find herself in the spotlight for an entirely different reason. Given her generational talent, it is no surprise that No. 22 is garnering interest from other leagues outside the WNBA. Reportedly, rapper Ice Cube’s Big 3, a 3-on-3 league that attracts former NBA players and international players, has extended a proposal for Clark to join their league. But what truly turned heads was the landmark contract that the 54-year-old artist offered Clark to play in their league.
According to TMZ, Ice Cube has presented a deal worth $5 million for 10 total games, 8 of which will be regular-season games, while the other 2 could possibly be playoff games. And that’s not even factoring in any potential sponsorship or merchandise deals. No doubt, this is significantly higher than what she would earn in the WNBA, where yearly player salaries rarely exceed $300K. However, despite the allure of such a lucrative offer, NBA star Draymond Green has offered a word of caution to the Iowa Hawkeyes standout.
In the recent episode of his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, while talking about Ice Cube’s offer, Green said, “I don’t think it quite makes sense right now unless you make that a financial thing where she can make a bunch of money. But $5 million unfortunately is just not enough.”

The Golden State Warriors star also questioned how such a deal would work. Would she have to leave the WNBA to join the Big3?
Caitlin Clark stands at a pivotal crossroads
Ice Cube’s offer to Caitlin Clark becomes even more enticing when considering that it allows her to pursue her WNBA career while also joining the co-ed league. Projected as the first overall pick for the Indiana Fever in the upcoming WNBA Draft on April 15, Clark could have the best of both worlds. However, there is one hitch. Two regular-season games in the Big3 would potentially clash with the Fever’s schedule. But Big 3 is only played once a week, and Ice Cube is more than willing to bend the league’s schedule according to what suits Caitlin Clark the most.

However, the WNBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) includes prioritization rules that could impact players engaging in overseas leagues, potentially affecting Clark’s ability to participate in the Big3. But it remains to be seen whether those would prevent Clark from participating in the Big3. Nevertheless, if such a deal comes to fruition, Clark would shatter one more barrier, becoming the first female player in the Big 3.
