The Pelicans handed the Warriors a 141-105 defeat at home tonight, much to the chagrin of Steve Kerr. Interestingly, Coach Kerr threw his team under the bus for the loss. Speaking to reporters in the post-presser, he reportedly said that the Golden State lost its “spirit, confidence, and belief”.
Absolutely dismayed with the performance, this statement was the final blow for the Dub Nation. Within seconds, X was filled with angry Warriors loyalists calling for Kerr’s head, figuratively, of course.
One fan can’t believe how Kerr can say this after coming this far into the season.

Another fan asks a valid question – “isn’t it his job to build spirit, confidence and belief?”

Another one with quite the username, @ButtcrackSports, is fairly certain that his opinion is that of the entire team.

And finally, this fan seems to be the serious type as his comment provides food for thought.
They need a new voice in that locker room those guys don’t trust Steve and they’re not playing for him anymore he has no clue what he’s doing with that roster

Not too soon ago, The Atheltic had reported Jonathan Kuminga‘s frustration with Kerr. Despite putting up numbers and stepping up as the situation calls for it, the Dubs coach decided to keep him on the bench. Though it was reported that both the player and the coach smoothed things over, it was just the tip of the iceberg.
Soon after Atheltic had reported the Kuminga-Kerr issue, Moses Moody’s camp also revealed that the people around him were “frustrated with the lack of a role and consistency.” As reported by Jason Dumas of Bay Area station, they felt like he was the “sacrificial lamb” for the team.
Moody has also been a life-saver for the struggling Warriors this season. He is averaging 8.7 points and 3.1 rebounds in 18.0 minutes per game with a 78.9 free throw percentage this season. Kuminga, on the other hand, is averaging 12.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in 22.8 minutes.
Yet, Kerr believes that his team lacks confidence.
Steve Kerr dismisses the 36-point loss to “fragility”
As mentioned above, the bevy of hate for Kerr was on account of his lackadaisical response to their ugly loss. In a hilarious turn of events, Kerr was heard bringing up another excuse. “When we’re fragile like we are right now, I don’t think screaming and yelling at them is going to work.”

He further explains that as a coach, it’s about finding the “delicate balance”. Kerr also adds that it’s high time they start looking at different tactics and find their fight. Right now, they are 2-5 in their 7-game homestand. It should have been at least vice-versa for a team looking to get wins.
So, it seems like everything comes down to the wire for the franchise. Up until now, there haven’t been any major trade moves. But it looks like the situation is soon going to change.
