The Golden State Warriors have not reached the pedestal they are at without some embarrassing losses. The team has been one of the most successful dynasties in the past decade. But now and then, some group or some player has managed to come along and get the best of them. In recent years, players like LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, and more defeated the Warriors in the Playoffs to win championships.

However, there was a player that managed to humiliate the Warriors during his very first year in the league as a rookie. And Warriors star Klay Thompson does admit to harboring a bit of jealousy towards this former NBA star.

Klay Thompson admits jealousy

Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson recently made an appearance on Paul George?s podcast. While on the show Podcast P With Paul, Thompson went on to talk about numerous things before admitting jealousy towards Brandon Jennings.

Brandon Jennings was the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft. He was drafted in the same class as Stephen Curry. However, Jennings managed to have a much bigger rookie season than Curry.

While on the podcast, Thompson and George talked about the players from their era of high school and college basketball. That is when Brandon Jennings? name came up. Thompson said, ?Brandon, first to go overseas, open that door.?

?I remember that when Brandon got a Million Euros. I can?t believe this. You know what I?ll do if I had that money right now?? Thompson went on to add, ?Brandon was a real phenom. I remember watching him on the internet versus Ricky Rubio. That was a huge deal. Like, do it for the Americans, B.?

Brandon Jennings vs Stephen Curry’s rookie year

Brandon Jennings was an immediate starter from the year he got drafted into the league. Jennings was the first player to have 55 points in his rookie season in the modern era of basketball.

And he had that 55-point game against none other than Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Jennings was a starter whereas Curry came off the bench, helping out starters like Monta Ellis and Stephen Jackson.

Jennings may have had a great rookie year, but since then, his point production fell off. Jennings was expected to be an All-Star but he never was able to live up to that caliber. And he finally decided to go overseas after playing nine seasons in the league.
