This year’s ESPYS are refusing to thaw for myriad reasons. The Joker of the NBA was nominated for The Best Player while the previous year’s best was seen playing golf. His rivals were being glorified in his absence by LeBron James whose spouse almost slurred on National TV. Amid all this the clash on the course where NBA stars locked horns with the NFL duo resurfaced a fortnight after trending headlines.?

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson‘s golf duel with the Kansas City star and his teammate was the talk of the town in the NBA offseason. And now 15 days later, the two NFL stars earned the respect of Curry’s court nemesis, LeBron James.

LeBron James’ nod of respect

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce faced off against the Splash Brothers duo on the golf course. The highly awaited NBA-NFL matchup had the fanbase divided into two different segments, supporting their favorite players.

However, in the end, it was Mahomes and Kelce who came out on top. Curry and Thompson ended up second despite being cheered by their Golden State Warriors star teammate, Draymond Green. Green’s trash-talking prowess failed to save the day for the Splash Brothers.

Weeks later, Curry was seen on golf course with his father and friends than in the glittering attendance of this year’s ESPY Awards. The absence raised eyebrows as the Curry was the host and the best award winner in last year’s award ceremony. In his absence, his golf rivals got nod of his court counterpart.?

The Los Angeles Lakers star went to his Instagram to share a picture with both Mahomes and Kelce on his IG Stories. He captioned the image, ?My brothers from another!! @killatrav @patrickmahomes,? followed by a few emojis.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce may have earned the respect of the four-time NBA champion but LeBron James managed to earn the love and admiration from the entire crowd. Apart from James’ speech, the crowd also got a hilarious one from his wife, Savannah.

The King got up to the stage and started hinting towards retirement. Given that he is 38, fans may only have the privilege to see him play for another year or two, depending on his health. But he quickly put that to rest claiming that his plan of retiring isn?t anytime soon.
